£100 round trip, where do I sign up?
Is that ontop of the economy fare to upgrade both ways do you mean Mary or is there a 0 missing?

sorry , it is on top of the economy fare , its late !!( that' s my excuse ) it worked out £ 361 in total , it was also a miles plus money fare , however if you find a fare for £100 count me in cdv !! still not sure if i want to pay £100 or not ?
Go for it!!! For an extra £100 its well worh it - flown PE many times [msnwink]
When we fly to MCO in Nov, PE was £129 extra each way, I'd take it at £100 round trip.

If you can afford it then it sounds like a good deal to me, so go for it.

Mary I'd be interested to know what dates you are looking at at that sounds particulary cheap for a NYC PE fare even as M+M. Are you including taxes with that price?

From the Virgin web site:
"Fly from London Heathrow to New York between 22 August and 14 December 2007 from £462 rtn* including tax, plus 7,500 miles. Book by 24 July 2007.
Fly from London Heathrow to Boston, Washington, Chicago and Miami between 22 August and 14 December 2007 from £472 rtn** including tax, plus 7,500 miles. Book by 24 July 2007."
You can always split the trip and save i.e. economy on the way our and PE on the way back. We did this earlier going to New York:economy on the way out and used miles for Upper Class on the way back.
Its always worth speaking directly to the flying club on the phone rather than relying on the web site as we have been offered availability on the phone that does not show up on line.

PS personally I think £462 for PE is well worth it.

Andrew - the fares you are quoting are finished now although VA does still have the details on the website.
New offers are slightly more, just over £500, and run for bookings made until 15th August 07 - although I still think that this is a pretty good price for PE.
I wonder if they had a special offer on the upgrade as they are listed as £139 outward and £99 for the return now which is pretty standard.

I know it's from London but have you considered Zoom, the new budget airline flying to New York. They also do upgrades, I was reading a Virgin flight report on another site and the writer's friends were using Zoom and they were impressed with the service.

We're flying with Zoom to Toronto in a couple of weeks. Not Premium Economy but we have paid extra for the same seats as PE without the extra onboard service( drinks, separate cabin and check in.)I will post on how the flight was.

We arrived back Thursady from Toronto with Zoom. The airline was ok, adequate.Very good staff at check in and on the plane; we make a few requests as both my parents aren't too mobile and they were very helpful. Older planes with monitors dwon the gangway and a big screen at the front. I always read or listen to music so this didn't worry me. The big big plus was being able to book the emergency exit seats with loads of leg room. If the ticket is cheap and you just want a way of getting from A to B then I would say Zoom are ok. We always use airmiles and fly Virgin PE to Orlando so cannot say how Zoom compare to the other charter flights.
Hope this helps,
andrew
