Just seen this thread!
They have a website with plenty of information regarding the area.
A quick search on Google will reveal all!

We stayed in Ponte Vedra Beach a couple of weeks ago for 2 nights. The closest we could find to villas was at the Marriott Sawgrass and their idea of a villa is not quite what you expect: a 1 bedroom, 1 lounge and a small kitchen which was more like a condo. They were in a block, side by side with one upstairs and one downstairs.
It's a beautiful area though with great beaches. Jacksonville is close by if you need to go and St Augustine is only about 16 miles south along the A1A.

St Augustine is well worth a visit, and if either of you are shoppers there is an outlet mall just outside.

Ponte Vedra is primarily a very expensive residential area. We have friends that belong to the Country Club there! I really cant see what it would offer as a vacation spot! It has a beach and a shopping plaze or two. But nothing for kids. It is just north of St Augustine. But St Augustine is packed with hotels, and the city of St Augustine Beach is on it's own island!
If you want a vacation in North Florida, look at the pan-handle. Pensacola or Panama City for example.
