Hi All,

I am going through the clothes that I will be taking in 17 days:D:D:D.
But the idea is not to take much and buy when we are there.

Suddenly thought what if they have not got summer clothes in the shops[msneek] or very limited stock.
I got my next winter catalogue last week, so guess our summer is over !!!

Hope you can help and calm my nerves ,

Thanks Sue

Hi Sue

I'm in Florida at the moment, and even I can't buy all the summer stock before you arrive[msnwink] although I'm doing my best!
There's tons of choice everywhere for all ages, shapes and sizes - you'll be fine[msnsmile2]

I would have thought that somewhere with the climate that Florida has would have to sell 'summer' clothes most of the time - though probably with a few more rain coats thrown in at this time of year

Most of Florida's winter stuff is our summer stuff anyway, if Caroline does manage to empty the stores. [msnwink]

I would only take a small amount of clothes as there are a lots of outlets which sell summer clothes and I am sure there is sales on as well .
Have a ball buying .

Don't forget if you are staying in a villa you will have the use of a washing machine and dryer if you get caught short before hitting the shops[msnsmile]

I've always found that the shops stock both summer and slightly winter clothing all year round.

So, as well as buying summer clothes can also get a few nice things for the chilly winter months back home :).

Florida - Welcome to shoppers paradise [msnsmile2]!

As well as the Malls, Florida Mall, Festival Bay Mall, Mall at Millenia etc, there are also areas with brilliant designer outlet stores such as Premium Outlets and Lake Buena Vista Factory stores. The newly revamped Prime Outlets at the end of International Drive (I-Drive) are due to be fully reopened on Friday August 17th [clap][clap]. Go online before you go and print off discount coupons for even greater savings at most Malls and outlet centres.

For tips on what to buy and where, look on these forums and guides. I can also recommend the brilliant, 'a brit's guide to Orlando and Walt Disney World' it has loads of info on where to shop and how to save money, plus discount coupons for some of the shopping centres mentioned above.

Happy shopping :D

I always take enough clothes for the first couple of days, a lightweight jacket and a cardi or sweatshirt for use when I go into restaurants. I normally go in winter/spring and find this is ample. We stay in a villa and do a wash each evening using a cold wash and cold rinse. Doesn't take long and feels quite decadent doing the washing whilst sipping on a couple of glasses of vino [msnsmile2]

I gave this advice to a friend who was going over with her family, she was horrified as she considered washing not a high priority when she's on holiday. When she returned all her cases were full of clean clothes and she agreed that she should have taken less to leave some space for the new ones bought for all the family. It's washing but not as we know it[^]

Sue all the advice so far will see you right. We hardly take anything at all when we go, but always come back with full suitcases. There are so many bargains and the exchange rate is great at the moment. Happy shopping.

Forget aboout the Prime Oulets on i-Drive. As of last weekend, they were half demolished, the rest half empty and a lot of what remained were selling out their stock.
The rest though are giving great bargains with $2.03 to the £ using the credit/debit card.

Is it true they are reopening in 16 days time???? I was up that way for a few minutes on Sunday and it said 18 Days to opening!!! Looked like there was still a lot of work to do.

To answer your question Sue, you will have a ball. My friends are coming out on Saturday and I rung yesterday to see how they were. I asked " Are you packed" and my friend answered "But you keep telling me not to bring this and not to bring that so what am I to bring". When you stay in a villa there is so much there you are best coming with a near empty case. The shops are fantastic. My advise just bring lots of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and yes lots of summer clothes.

Hope my wife dont read all your ideas

otherwise we will be travelling with 2 empty cases this coming Sunday and hitting the Malls for 2 days

although dont tell her as that was also my idea anyway, as well as leaving behind my golf woods from my bag and returning with replacements in position !!

100% certain that you will take too much, I always do and end up bringing more home and then worrying about the weight of the cases. Always say that NO shoes this trip and then end up with at least two pair.

Hi

I never buy clothes in England except school clothes!!

Every time we go we all get 4/5 pairs of shoes and new clothes for everyone! My son is into basket ball and bought 8 shirts while we were there at easter. We take 1 suitcase full and another suitcase inside another for the journey home. I find clothers over there excellent value. We are going for about a week in August and I will take clothes for about 3 days and buy the rest while we are there.

I have loads of comments on how nice my childeren are dressed and all I say is America!!! America!! America!!!

i found that the washer in our last villa was very harsh on the clothes could this be why you use a cold wash and rinse Lena?
