You will see the baby swap sign in the queueing areas in the parks. No, it does not mean that you exchange your whingeing youngster for a more agreeable one ( though you might like to!). It actally refers to a procedure whereby parents of a child who has failed to meet the height requirement can both ride without having to queue up twice. Basically, one parent stays with the child in the baby swap area whilst the other rides and on his/her return to care for the child, the other parent is fast tracked to the front of the queue. Thus, neither parent misses out. Not really baby swap, more parent swap really but handy though!!

It's a great idea - especially in Parks like Islands Of Adventure where we had trouble finding any rides we could go on with our children (3 years and 1 year old).

It doesn't only apply if the children don't meet the height restrictions, but the children may just not want to go on the ride, and cannot be left unattended.
Also If you have 2 children who want to go on a ride where they need to be with an adult and the 2nd adult doesn't wish to ride the first adult can "swap" children over and go back on, immediately.

If like us, you have a number of children, some who want on the ride and some who don't/can't, then the children can go on the ride twice in quick succession, as the second parent can take up to 3 other people back on the ride with them. You can also use the baby switch with a fast pass & no one needs to queue at all, great when you have young children!.
