Hi there

We are going to Florida in September and we are wanting to rent the 8 seater luxury SUV I think its the Ford Expedition from this site. If I click on 8 seater minivan then click onto budget where the SUV appears will I be guaranteed to get this or will I maybe still end up with the van which I don,t want.

Anyone,s input would be great

Lynda

Once you have made your booking, Budget confirm availability of the 8 seater SUV within approx 1 week. If for any reason they do not have an 8 seater SUV available we will let you know at that time.

Otherwise the car is booked for you. Budget dont offer an 8 seater van through our contract, so you can safely assume you will be allocated the car you book.

You need to select the 8 Seater Minivan from the quote page. When you then select Budget as the supplier you will see the car change to the 8 Seater Luxury SUV

From another thread it seems that there are different versions of the 8 seater SUV. Some people say that they have loads of room for 7 people and plenty of luggage, others saying that with all 3 rows of seats up there is only room for 1 suitcase behind the seats. If we book an 8 seater is there a way of confirming that it will be the larger version?

billy i took that thread to mean the difference between an suv and an ?e100 was it? which is more of a van albeit comfy. is it i suppose more like a tourneo not a transit with wood seats!! oh forgot to say thanks roger will get that sorted this week

Still pondering over the Jeep Cheroke or the luxury 8 seat SUV.
Can anyone tell me which has the better comfort levels, and are the seats in the SUV as comfortable as the Jeep or are they the more thinner style.
Its for 2 adults and 3 teenagers.
Thanks..

Hi,

We are in Orlando at the moment, and picked up our 8 seater SUV from Budget on Thursday. It is a really nice car, with just 2800 miles on the clock, but it is HUGE! You literally have to climb up into it!

We are a group of two adults, three teenagers and one 8 year old. We struggled a little to get all the luggage into the boot, but we did manage in the end. We had two large suitcases (30"?), three mid sized (26"?) and one large soft trolley case type, along with the usual hand baggage. We had to put two of the three back seats down, as otherwise we would only have been able to fit one large suitcase in the boot. If I get a chance I'll take a photo and post it to show on the forum as I know some people are worried about fitting all the luggage in.

As far as comfort is concerned, it is a lovely car inside, but I can't say how it compares with the Jeep as I haven't driven one of those. I would imagine that both cars are comparable, it is just a matter of size. I bet the teenagers would prefer the 8 seater, though[msnsmile]

Would anyone be prepared to post any photos you may have taken of the 8 seat SUV. I have looked on the Ford web site but am finding it difficult to gauge the size of it.Just a bit worried it may turn out to be too big !!.

It is a really big car to drive, but you do get used to it. Its really nice inside. When you are driving on the interstate you don't feel that it is a particularly big car, and even I can manage to park it at the supermarket, and thats saying something!

It just depends what you are looking for. I will try to post some photos tomorrow, but I am running out of time, and I may not get around to it.

Hope this helps.

We have just returned from Florida and hired the 8 seater SUV from Budget. WOW what a vehicle, we all thought it was fantastic[msnsmile2]
Our party included 4 large adults and 4 teenagers, although we had to travel from and back to the airport with holdals on laps it was well worth it for the 2 weeks of luxury and comfort in between[msnwink]
Would have no hesitation in hiring on future trips or recommending to anyone having doubts.

The second photo is of the boot (obviously!!), with two of the three third row seats folded down. We were able to load three full sized (30"?) suitcases, two medium (26"?), one large soft case with wheels all into the boot along with a couple of laptop cases. We had to take one large wheeled trolley case on the floor as the boot was absolutely STUFFED!!

We really enjoyed having this car, but it is absolutely huge. It was a bit daunting at first, but even I was able to drive it,once I had plucked up the courage. [msnsmile]

I hope this helps if anyone is in any doubt as to which car to choose on holiday.

Thanks

Nuala

By the way, sorry for the quality of the photos and please ignore the date! My daughter is always messing about with the settings on the camera. Also, the first photo was supposed to one of the villa, but it was the only one I had with the car in it. We never got around to taking one of the car[msnsad]
