I am out next week and would like to try a game of golf (first time)with my son who has played a few times. Does anyone have any suggestions for a complete beginner? W will be staying at Indain Ridge.

Highlands Reserve Golf Club is very popular with beginners and is reasonably priced.

Its off the US27 and is approximately a 10 minute drive from Indian Ridge. Best to book tee-times ahead as it gets busy, particularly at the weekends.

I would go along with Debra, HR is well suited for a beginner.

or if you can book a lesson at the Nick Faldo golf academy - you can do a 3 hour beginners session and then you could play the 9 hole course there. That is where I started.

Highlands Reserve is an great course, baised I know, but if you don't want to do 18 holes, and a shorter fairway, then Polo Park does a good 9 holes, with hire of a buggy as well. IF you feel really great you can go round again and then only charge you for 18 holes not 9+9 holes.

That sounds a good idea for a beginner. Where is the Nick Faldo academy Joyce?
