the 767-300 (often shown as '763') is a wide-bodied jet with 2 aisles throughout the cabin. The seat configuration in economy is usually 2-3-2.

Hi I just had an email from airtours as I was wanting to know the seating plan of the plane in premier gold. They said it could be one of two planes one being 2-4-2 and the other 3-3-3. They gave me a number to ring about a week before I fly to see what it would be for sure. The number is 01614984498. When do you travel? You will also need your booking ref when calling if it's close [msnwink]

Not sure about the 767, we flew premiar on the Airbus. It was fine and seats better than economy. Cabin also better.

Here is the 767-300 seating is normally 2-3-2[msnwink]

We flew with air tours 1 year ago on 767-300 they only have about 4 of these and there were toilets down stairs in the middle of the plane and 1 or 2 upstairs .
It is a lovely plane and we had plenty of ler room and the crew was very good also the meals .

fly out on the 14th July, but I had been reading some negative posts [msncry](know you shouldnt) about the flights flying out of Glasgow. then I read that all their 767-300 didn't have premair. obviously wrong when Maureen flew on one, which makes me feel heaps better.

just phoned special needs and she was really nice and helpful and assured it def. was Premair. will phone the number you gave before we go just to make sure

thanks everyone feel a bit better now.

Don't think that can have been a 767, Maureen. They don't have an 'upstairs'.

They have toilets below seating level but there is also one at each end of the plane for people who cannot manage the stairs .
It is not like the jumbos BA have, As not got a upper level .
These planes are fairly new and they are very proud of them the hostess told us only using them on long haul .

after feeling better just read that its a Airbus B763 with a 2-4-2 configuration. now totally confused I just phoned them this afternoon and on the Sanford website it stated the plane yesterday was a 767-300 [msnscared]

unsure to be fair to MY travel if although this person has been told its Airbus B763 with a 2-4-2 in economy she never asked about Premair.

so anyone know or been on a plane that has 2-4-2 in economy but also has premair I have only every been on the 3-3-3 premair with toilets downstairs and anyone know about the airbus B763 compaired to the 767-300

I'm not surprised you're confused Ali. I'm as sure as I can be that there isn't an 'Airbus B763'. In fact, 'B763' usually refers to a Boeing 767-300 (763). The Airbus A300 usually has a 2-4-2 configuration in economy but each airline will configure its premium cabins differently.

It's not encouraging that the operator in this case doesn't seem to be able to give you any useful information. I hope it works out for you.

If it has a downstairs toilet half way down economy it is an Airbus.

It definitely isn't a Boeing 767.

To clarify the confusionm the 767- 300 does has premiar at the front. On this aircraft the toilets are on the same level as the seating. The Airbus which flies out of Manchester and Gatwick has the toilets downstairs. The premiar section has its own toilets at the front.

threads were saying that on these flights going out of glasgow in economy there was no seat back tvs etc so this also got me panicing a bit but the TA has just got off the phone that this flight def. has Premair
do you think Dom that some of these planes have the no seat back tvs say in economy but still have the premair at the front.

When we flew on the old 767 they used to have they had the TV above your head. In premiar they issued us with small DVD players with a book of films to choose. This was 3 years ago so might have updated the plane since.

As I understand it both the Airbus A330 ( large newish aircraft with downstairs toilets ) and the Boeing B767-300 ( slightly older but still perfectly good ) have a Premier cabin at the front. I believe that the A330's have seat back TV's throughout the cabin but not the B767's. I have operated both types and am fond of them both. [msnsmile]

thanks we aren't that hard to please it was just the extra room to get our son who is paralised into the seating , feel not so paniced now.
do the airlines stick to what is started with i.e. if they started with say a 767 now in May then do you think come July the chances are it would be a 767 or would it depend on say how full busy it is for them at this time.

tawny

seating in premium was 2-2-2 as they have told you(767)

I would think that what they start with they will keep as it will be busy at every airport by July and they only have so many planes.

Ali I think you should definately phone and see if you can get the first row of seats with perhaphs the next 2 seats behind. they are againest the bulkhead and have that little bit more space and you could make your son more comfortable by reclining the seat and it would be closer to those behind without feeling that your intruding.
Remember that its still only about a 36 to max 38 inch pitch.

MY Travel just confirmed it will be 2-2-2 seating in Premair which will be so much easier for us to get DS into the seat. so many threads were adament it was 2-3-3 in premair that I was getting quite paniced
