pls can anyone answer this for me

in our first ever villa (single story) we never heard the noise from the air conditioning unit at all, however in the last one the noise was very much evident, and especially loud upstairs [msnsad]

are all the ac units noisy or should we hardly hear them at all?

You should not hear them. They can get noisy when the gas is getting low, which means they are due for service.

Mizzy, this can be one of the gret drawbacks of holidaying in a hotel - the air con is usually incredibly noisy and unbearably smelly, but this should not be the same in a villa.

Our air con is definitely extremely quiet, so I cannot see a reason why this should not have been so in your villa. Maybe, as Martin says, there was something wrong with it. I am sure that if you had contacted the Management Company they would have come out to check it for you, and if necessary, get it put right.

Glad to hear you had a great trip, though, from your trip reports. :)

to be honest Ellie although i commented on it to my husband whilst staying at the villa, i thought it was normal, loud!!! but normal because of the size of the house, the master bedroom was downstairs so it didn't disturb my sleep

looking at our possible future villa i can see on the 360 tour the ac cupboard is right outside the master bedroom upstairs and this has got me thinking, i need things to be very quiet for me in order to sleep

Mizzy, its one of the things that drives me mad if we have to stay in a hotel - I think most Florida hotels smell really bad, too, even the most up-market ones - its mould in the system - so we avoid them like the plague, unless its a real necessity, for example if we drive down to Fort Lauderdale to pick up a cruise.

I also like it to be very quiet when I go to sleep - so you are certainly wise to make sure your requirements are met. I think its years of waking instantly to babies or young children that has made me super sensitive to noise![msnwink]

Hi...with aircon it would sound like a very quiet/low drone while it is active, speek to owners managment company as they can check if a fault has taken place with it or it is not set correctly...You shouldnt play with the controls yourself but if you need it adjusted to suite your needs then the MC should come and do this for you...

Mizzy we stayed in a villa on Lindfields over 3 years and we went about 6 times and the aircon was next to bedroom 3 and it was very noisy, again I thought it was just because it was so close to the bedroom wall (it was actually in the garage) but since then the more recent villas have all had quiet aircon[msnsmile]
