Want to great way to make the day more exciting for the kids? The DW designers had a little game going amongst themselves as they designed the parks. They hid 'Mickey's' all around. Variations on the one big circle with two smaller circles (ears). You can find them in the buildings, sidewalks, fences, all around. Have everyone keep count of the hidden Mickey's that they find first. We've found over 50 of them. Some are quite clever.

There is also a Hidden Mickey Club and they arrange days out to Disney just to go and look for the new Mickeys.

Are they easy to spot. I nearly started this thread myself-but then I remembered I had not seen one!

There wasa tv programme showing the opening of the new animal kingdom lodge and the presenter showed everyone the hidden mickey-that was the first time I have heard of it-even so-I still couldn't find it when we went over!

Sounds like a wonderful idea. We'll definitely be looking out for one next time we go over.

Anyone got a picture of one so we can all get the idea what to look out for? Maybe a picture on the Disney website?

Hi!<img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle>

I checked out the hidden Mickey's website a while back, and couldn't get into it, but the onyl one I have seen is in the Sci-Fi diner in MGM studios, its on the back wall and is formed by the leaves of the trees being painted in such a way they resemble the mickey mouse ears! Excellent idea, but they don't publicise it enough!

OK, I'll give you a couple of hints, but I don't want to make it too easy.

--Not all the swirls in the surface of the walkways are random...
--Not all the things placed along the Thunder Mountain Railroad or Splash Mountain fell by accident...

The hidden mickeys website is at http://hiddenmickeys.org which has lots of info about hidden mickeys but is very s l o w! Because the hidden mickeys can come and go during refurbishing, you're asked to let them know if you find a new one which they don't have listed.

You may find that http://www.disney.force9.co.uk/hidden.htm is quicker loading and also has a free video of hidden mickeys for download on offer.

BTW, hidden mickeys can take many forms such as the white gloves, yellow shoes, initials as well as the well known black head/ears combo so you need to look very carefully when you visit a park or you might miss one!
