A friend of mine has been telling me a tale of an ice-cream he had when he was in Florida called 'The Kitchen Sink'
He seems to think it was at the Yacht Club near Epcot.
I know this is a long shot but does anyone have any photos of this particular dish - it sounds almost to good to be true.[msntongue]

The biggest dessert I have seen is the one in Mannys Chop House, its enormous, served in what is as big as a fish bowl!!! Four of us could not finish it.

Here is another image.
You can get about four people to eat this and still feel stuffed at the end.

All those who have added to this subject are not in my good books. I have know a new desire, I must seek this out and all of us attempt to eat it. How could you, all? Think of all them calories!!![grin]Got to have a go

My daughter would love it but give me a bowl of crisps or peanuts anyday. Mind you ice-cream doesn't really go with my g&t. And yes ..... I know that would make it harder to lose the weight ... nay, impossible.

I was already tempted to try and find this - but now I have seen the pics it's just joined an already long list of things we must eat next time we are there.
If anyone does give it a go I would really like to see a pic with someone tucking in - just to get an idea of size of course (and none of those perspective shots where you stand really far away and put the ice cream in the fore ground either)

Glenda and Geoff
I have just read your review and I am now wandering if they still challenge anyone to eat it less than an hour.
Might have to get in training for that I think [sporty][drinkpepsi][easter1][drinkpepsi][sporty]

i've just added this to my must do list [msnoo] so if i can i'll seek it out and get a picture just for you Elaine, or is that Kenny?
as long as it's understood to all my slimming buddies that i would only be trying it out to get Elaine and Kenny a decent actual size photo[msnwink][msnsmile2]

Thanks Mizzy - and it's Kenny who started this one, (got to have some distractions whilst working the night away) but I'm sure Elaine just wouldn't be able to sit by and let me and the kids struggle through without her paternal instincts kicking in. It's in a mothers nature to help her kids out in times of trouble

I have just been on youtube, and if you put in a search for WDW Kitchen Sink you can actually watch a short video of one of these being made.
This is the first time I have seen one in the flesh, so to speak, and it is now easy to see why they are so difficult to finish - even if a group of you tackle it.
I wonder if they do a low fat version [msneek]
Kenny
Kenny, look at the time [msnoo] you're sat at work thinking about serious holiday food again aren't you? [msnwink][msnwink][msnwink]

i had one of these last time we was over, it cost $21.95
you get 8 large scoops of ice-cream
couple of bananas
couple of mars bars
choc brownies - cookies
cherries and lots more toppings

the worse bit is the cream, because you are totally

Yes I admit I am. I've promised myself that I won't eat much when on nights (just cereals for now) so my stomach is mounting a mutiny of biblical proportions. Because of this it is making me look at food related topics and this particular one just popped up.
It's not as if it's all I do on nights though - I do get busy sometimes - and seeing as though my particular job is to produce good quality aviation fuel to supply 20% of this countries needs you lot had better pray I keep my eye on the ball [msnwink]

You can get to Beaches and Cream by driving to The Beach Club Hotel on Disney property. (Near the Swan and Dolphin) Tell the guard that you are going to Beaches and Cream. The waits at peak times can be long as the place is small. It is located in the hotel near the pool. There is a carry out door and a dine in door. You need to dine in. By the way, they have great burgers too. The onion rings are the best around.
If you park at the Boardwalk, walk over to the Beach Club Hotel, (blue building) Go into the hotel and walk past Cape May Restaurant, out the double doors and you should see it.

when we go - we drive to the boardwalk - hire the bikes that are welded together with the surrey with the fringe on top look ($20-25 per half hour) - do 2 laps of the lake (difficult to do up-hill when laughing and panting!!) - then take the boat across the lake to the beach club - and collapse in beaches n cream - order our kitchen sink which is $21.95 (only gone up $2 in 9 years!!) and then leave half of it in a terrible mess and go home happy little bunnies!!! Gwen
Only just found this thread but I now have a definite 'must do' outing for our visit this Christmas. We eat a lot of icecream in our family but think even we will have to get one between the four of us.

they will give you enough bowls and spoons to share it out between your family, on the menu the item says serves 4 or more, i don't suppose they get it ordered very much just for one person to eat[msneek]
be warned though they deliver this to your table with the maximum of fuss and declare it to the whole restaurant with flashing of lights and a description of what's in the dessert[msnoo][msnembarrased]
Where is the bst place to park for the Beaches and Cream Soda Shop then as I am going to try the Kitchen Sink[msntongue][msntongue][msntongue]
We always park at The Boardwalk, then you can walk around that lake to Beaches & Cream restaurant. You will need to show some photo ID to park on the car-park here though.:)
Have a great time Julie.

Thanks Lynne, we often park there are walk around the lake, is the Beaches and Cream on the other side to the car park?

Julie, I was informed by a very reliable source (Mizzy)[msnwink] that it was through the
Yacht & Beach Club Hotel near the swimming pool. You may be able to park at this hotel too.
If you park on the car-park then walk up to and through the Boardwalk Hotel, then walk around to it. It looks like it's directly opposite the main Boardwalk entrance but over the lake.

We had the kitchen sink a couple of weeks ago, four of us shared it, They turn down all the light and make a big exhibition of serving it to you. WE just about finished it, and the waitress came over and Martin said "how about a refill" and she said "yes", she has seem some clients take straws to the bottom of the bowl.
We were so stuffed, we had to take a nap and after that, we didn't want to have any dinner.
