Are we likely to be able to add pics to our posts at some stage? I was just thinking that it might make the public areas a bit more interesting if people could see what some of the things we have been discussing actually look like?

If the picture you want to include is on the internet then yes.
Click on the icon that is entitled 'Insert Image' in the toolbar above where you are typing the new message and put the path to the picture in the img tags.
