Only last week booked what I believe to be a fantastic flight deal for Virgin direct to Orlando 22nd July 2007 returning 19th August 2007, for myself my wife and two kids
had been checking all week previously expedia / virgin atlantic for prices during summer holidays and were falling just under £700 a person
when I came to book it on Expedia initially showing just under £700, I put dates and details in, and got a right result and well lucky as it came up at less than £400 a person
Adults at £284 each and kids at £213 with taxes of £560 in total I paid £1554 for 22/7/07 - 19/08/07, and have it confirmed and e ticket details
Couldnt believe it, went back around 15mins later to check and had gone back to the £700 mark, and currently over £800 for the same dates, possibly a glitch in the system at time of booking around 8.30pm
Wife is dissapointed as her parents would like to join us, but probably not at the current prices
will keep an eye on it in hope but dont expect to get lucky, maybe others will get lucky

Expedia have a bit of a history of advertising flights with wrong fares. Last year I saved no less than £16,000 on 5 transatlantic First Class flights on American Airlines which had been advertised on Expedia's website with the wrong fares. After 24 hours of accepting the booking they are effectively stuck with it. As my fares were advertised on a Saturday, it was Monday before the error was discovered. I and many others who were aware of the error made a killing.
As Blott says, if you see a good fare, jump in. The very worst that can happen is that they get back to you and tell you they made a mistake. If that were to happen, tell them it's their problem.
Well Done ! Great price - we have travelled in July for the last 3 years and have always had to pay really expensive prices.
Will definitely be looking at the Expedia website [msnwink]

Similar thing happened to me booking NY flights, got them for a really silly low price, if you see them book them there and then, as if you go back into the pricing it may change!
I have booked for this summer with Virgin to Orlando, came to £1400 for four of us (this was using my points and getting two free flights and just paying taxes, and paying for kids fare) so £1500 is a really good price.
It really does pay to sit on the computer and monitor prices and just leap on them when you do find them!

I am well pleased just now struggling to find some additional flights for grandparents who think they may like to come along
BA were doing Tampa yesterday for around £600
think I'll wait a bit longer in the hope someone may start an offer somewhere along the way

I booked my parents flights to Vegas in April so after them I can put those points towards additional florida flights if the worst comes to the worst

Yes I think so, considering prior to booking it was coming out at almost double

There are glitches in computer booking systems from time to time(often on Expedia).
Some people on the specialist Frequent Flyer websites seem to spend their whole life looking for them.
Recently someone found a fully flexible first class return ticket on Alitalia from Canada to Cyprus for $150(£80). This ticket enabled you to break your journey in Europe. The airmiles alone were worth £hundreds
After they had booked they published details on the web and within hours many hundreds had booked tickets for the same trip. These were mainly Americans who got a cheap flight to Canada and had a very cheap holiday in Europe.
Alitalia subsequently tried to cancel all the confirmed and issued tickets, this has been challenged and I am not certain of the latest position.
There have been many many other instances. One in particular allowed those with a First Class ticket from the USA to UK to make multiple journeys around UK and Europe for virtually nothing($10) or so. However if you entered details into the booking computer with a certain code it enabled you to book all these very cheap flights WITHOUT having taken the first class flight from the USA.
