It has been a number of years since I visited Orlando and we now have a young child. Our preference is villa vs hotel (we have done both in the past). My questions are:
Are there smaller villas available as there is only 3 of us?
Is there an area that is more suitable - there are so many to choose from !
When is the best time to visit as we do not want it to be too hot for our young child
Hope you can help
Debra
Hi Debra,
The above sites have villas of all sizes to suit all families [msnsmile2]
In terms of areas to stay, while each one has a different feel to it they are all good. I don't think it would be fair to try to say that one is better than another as it's too general a statement.
In terms of times to visit, two personal favourites of ours are May and September. You still get heaps of that gorgeous Florida sunshine and everywhere is lovely and hot but not quite as hot as the middle of summer.
Enjoy the planning. It's half the fun [msnsmile2]
Hi Debra,
March and Oct/early November would be my favourite time to go with a young child (May and Sept a bit hot for me!!). Temperatures in the late 70s - early 80s but not too hot and humid.
I think with a young child a villa is much more preferable for the space it affords and for the private pool, which is great for a young one. Many villas have pool fences/safety alarms if you have a very young child.
As Steve says villas come in all shapes and sizes and regarding communities/area, then again there is something for everyone and all of them are within 15-20 minutes of Disney. I would put out a request with any preferences/requirements on the comments section and I am sure you will be spoilt for choice!

some lovely villas to browse through, we were going to be a party of 4 this holiday coming up in sept, and we looked into a villa/house that was a bit smaller ie one living room, they all seemed to have two, not a lot of difference in the prices but the differences between villa and hotel, well we wont ever stay in a hotel on holiday again especially not in florida, so much space to do your own thing and relax!
do you not have friends or family members that would like to join you and maybe share the cost? you'll have a great time no matter what you decide but look through and then decide, good luck xx
forgot to add, we have settled on sept/october for us, its lovely and warm without being to hot or to chilly, we did enjoy december with all the christmas lights and decs going up all around, and we had to just add cardigans for the evenings,

Hi Debra,
Welcome to the forum.
We are a small family of 3 as well and to be honest the size of villa makes no difference to your stay - just choose one that you love and which suits your needs.
We have been to Orlando several times in October and it has always been lovely weather and isn't very busy. I agree with Steve as well that May is a delightful time to stay.
We usually end up holidaying in Orlando in August due to school holidays and whilst it is hot, it is a very manageable heat and we love it.
Have fun with your planning and choosing your villa. I'm quite sure that you will be spoiled for choice!

Debra, you've already been offered some great advise, I would just like to add that if your little one is pre-schol age then take advantage of the vastly cheaper flights that are available outside the school holiday times. If we could go during term time I would choose September and early October or late April (after Easter) - However that said there's never a bad time to be in Florida[msncool]
