Well I guess you know the routine by now, IHOP breakfast, a Publix shop for juice, beer and crisps (sorry chips!)
A leisurely day reading and enjoying the sun – and for me coughing!!! Such an awful cough that I needed a trip to Walgreens for some medication. Although they were extremely helpful it took ages to be seen and for something to be recommended for me. Had a wonderful Paella at BB tonight [msntongue] followed by an early night for the hypochondriac… [msnwink]
An almost sleepless night meant I was up early and we set off to drive to the Gulf Coast where we have enjoyed many a good holiday, of course we needed a Perkins breakfast to sustain us for the trip! Eggs, bacon, potatoes and pancakes….
Went to Sarasota and had a walk along Siesta Beach and a wander around Siesta Key, another of my favourite spots, had a snack at the Broken Egg, yes despite my cold my appetite was definitely getting back to normal. Called at the outlets at Ellenton for more shopping and arrived back in Kissimmee just in time to go to Red Lobster for our dinner where our starter was complimentary as it came out after our main courses! This time I enjoyed stuffed flounder (although my coughing fits spoiled it slightly) …
I’m having cheesecake withdrawal symptoms [msnoo]
Another sunny Sunday – actually had breakfast, well toast & cookies, at home today. It took a little while for the sun to warm up but once it did we spent much of the day around the pool. Back to DTD/Westside tonight to buy the things we had spotted on our first trip. Had a McD’s – well I always like have to have just one while I’m in the US. And I wasn’t missing out on my Ghiradelli’s this time [msnsmile2]
Next day suffering from IHOP withdrawal symptoms we headed off there for breakfast – my favourite - country omelette this morning.
We returned to Celebration for a mooch around the shops and stroll around the lake. Relaxed a while in a rocker with ice cream and coffees [8D] Back to Millenia and a return to the CF tonight – predictably I had the bang bang chicken again and cheesecake to take home. Spent some time on one of the comfortable settees and people watched for a while. Then while we were in Bloomies we spent a while talking to a lovely lad who was American but his parents were from Pakistan, he was telling us how he played cricket for a local amateur league side. Found this very interesting as you don’t imagine cricket being played much in the States. We then had a long discussion about cricket, football, baseball, sport in general.
The spicy food seemed to release my cold and the rest of the night I suffered from a runny nose and constant sneezing…… which of course I tried to cure with a drop or two of whiskey [beer]
Woke to rain again, a good excuse to eat breakfast out – Perkins this morning (don’t say we’re not adventurous!! [msnwink]). Then we hit the Florida Mall – shopped till we dropped and fed my cold at the food court!! Tacos weren’t enough so I had a small sub too [msnembarrased] Back at the villa we had a little “trial pack” to make sure all our purchases were going to fit in the suitcases and to see if we had room for anything more! Went to Ruby Tuesdays on the 192 for ribs and fries – just a half rack for me as my cold worsened and meant once again I wasn’t really enjoying food.
Back to premium outlets for our last purchases
Another sleepless night due to blocked nose and cough
Our last full day – our last visit to “our” IHOP. We were given a very good send off by all the staff, made me cry [msncry]
A sunny day although it was really quite cool, but I still spent most of the day by the pool putting off the inevitable packing.
Packed everything I could before we went for our last Chinese and of course I had to call at CF for my final fix of cheesecake [msnsad]
Despite my medicinal hot toddy I still had another rotten nights sleep. Perhaps my cough sounded bad enough that they wouldn’t let me on the plane tomorrow…???
Only one more part to come…..
