View Full Version : xmas 2008
we are going for our second trip to Florida next september and have taken advantage of the free dining plan offer which was availble a couple months back, we are staying at animal kingdom lodge and are really looking forward to it but at the same time we are also thinking about our next trip.
We have decided we would like to visit over xmas 2008 and stay for 3 weeks in a villa, we will probably go around the 6th december so we have a couple of weeks of the parks being quiet and will be there for xmas but will come home before new year.
The problem I have is that i canot see DH being too happy about booking another trip until we have been on the one next september, although he loves it i think he will be reluctant to part with cash we could be taking as spends next year, but i am worried that by the time we get round to booking in October we will struggle to get a villa
Can anyone re-assure me we will be able to find something
Hi Zazu,
I am sure you will be able to find something, but if you have a certain villa in mind, or a 'wish list' for your families needs/wants, your options may be more limited as it is a very popular time of year. You have plenty of time yet, but owners are now taking bookings for that period.
Good luck and enjoy the search. Either of the sites below are excellent, and for added peace of mind all the homes on them are verifed by the site owners.

Hi Suzanne
Christmas is a very busy time and villas do get booked up quite early. May be best to start looking now so that you can be sure of getting what you want.
Having said that - if your main concern is paying so early, you will only need to pay the deposit as most owners will ask for full payment a few weeks before your holiday! That should slot in nicely after your September trip!

Most owners take a deposit to secure the dates you require and then full payment a certain time before you depart for your holiday.
This could allow you if you see something you like to pay a deposit to secure that time of year want. Then it gives you time to save before you pay the full amount.
Even so there are a good number of lovely villas so you should be able to find something you like.

Hi Zazu
I'm with the others on this, if you find a villa you really want book it and pay the deposit to hold it. Full payment won't be required until around 10 weeks before your holiday. You are also unlikely to be able to book your flights over a year in advance so the only paying out before your 2007 trip would be the villa deposit.
Once you have decided what you want your villa to have, Pool, Spa, Games room, computer for instance you can send out a general enquiry on the 3 sites above. This will give you plenty of time to look through the available villas and choose something that really suits you.
Thanks everyone.
I'm not sure DH would be wiling to even part with a deposit but I'll work on him...lol, we are going away for xmas this year to stay with family in Cyprus (6 days to go :) )so hopefully after having a nice relaxing xmas he will be all up for getting xmas 2008 booked. I know flydrive prices should be available in spring but looking at the availability for december 2007 i think we would be okay to leave that until we get back from Florida next september.
To be honest though everyone of the villas on here looks absolutely beautiful and I would stay in any one of them, so even if i can't get booked early as long as someone has a villa availble I will be happy

I would definitely book you villa well ahead and the you get the one you like as lots of villa owners have regular visiters so you may have book early and also nice to look forward were you are going .
They will only want a deposit and that gives you time to save up for the full payment 8 weeks to the holiday .
Good luck

for this Xmas there are still lots of enquiries coming through but very little space left. Many villas have been booked for Xmas long term by now. Don't leave it too late.

can you pay a deposit for a general type villa and decide where to go later?

You would have to choose a specific Villa that fills all your needs and pay your deposit direct to the Owner of this to secure it.
Hi Zazu
We are also visiting family in Cyprus! Maybe we'll see you there!
I agree with what's been said that there will be lots of choice for your villa holiday but if you see the one you like, I'd put a booking deposit down on it. That way you will be able to relax and not worry about any disappointment over your accomodation.
You can then have fun thinking about all the other aspects of your holiday planning.
Have a great Christmas
