Jane and Fraser,

We went for the first time this August and it was super. Our son even went so far as to say that he'd enjoyed it more than Disney!!

We will certainly go again!

We did it last year and have to say we didnt see anything other than water at high speed. The person driving the boat went flat out, so any wild life within a mile radius must have heard us coming and hid.
I do know other people who have seen loads so it maybe down to the driver you get on the day.

We enjoyed the trip. like speed, but saw absolutely no wildlife. This was on one of our early visits to Florida and I began to think that there was no gators in Florida. Then we went to Gatorland and we saw more than enough gators, loved this visit.

We have not yet managed to try this out, but will give it a try on our next trip.

We have only been on this once but loved it. Will definately go again.

We saw plenty of wildlife including gators and a young bald eagle.

My girls really enjoyed it especially when we went fast and zig zagged.

When we finished we stood and watched plenty of gators just laying by the edge of the water. There were people fishing just of few yards away from them[msnoo], we kept well away[msnsmile2]

We've done it twice and haven't seen any 'gators - I agree with previous comments that the noise the air-boats make and the fact that they seem to follow the same route every 30-45 mins throughout the day mean you will be quite lucky to see any gators. We still enjoyed the trip tho, just don't be too disappointed if there's not much wildlife around!

We've been on Boggy Creek Airboats at least six times and have always seen alligators and loads of other wildlife.

We always go to the Southport location (on Poinciana Boulevard) which is a whole heap quieter than the East Lake Fish Camp location and you also get a great car journey there through some of the 'original' farm lands - the real Florida as it was before all the tourists arrived.

And you can also do the buggy ride there too and there's loads of wildlife to be spotted on that - including some alligators. :)

Sounds like this is going to be a great experience, the kids are going to love it especially if we see the Aligators.

We loved it-saw alligators, snakes ,turtles, eagles --some close enough to touch (nobody did)
but watch for the flies-either don't eat before you go and keep your mouth open , in which case you'll get a feast(!) or keep your mouth closed and even then you might inhale one through your nose.

Quick question to you Boggy Creek Experts.

I presume we just turn up and wait for the next ride.

Is there a long wait for your turn ?

Usually every 20 mins, the wait is not long, you can take a picnic as there are tables nearby.

Well just been on the Airboat ride today and what a fab time we had.

We were lucky enough to see Gators, Bald Eagles, Raccoons, and lots of other stuff.

For the price this is a great attraction to go on.

Don't bother with your hair in the morning as it will not be the same on your return from the airboat ride unless you are bald. [laugh][laugh]

So glad you were able to see some wildlife. Bald Eagles must have been quite a sight, haven't seen one yet and would love to.

Hi,

Haven't been on the Boggy Creek air boats, but we went on the half day trip organised thru Gatorland. Bit more expensive, but you get a packed lunch! [msntongue]

We ended up at a place called the dead river for lunch...was very quiet and pleasant. Saw baby gators, BIG spiders, bald eagles...loads of other birds, too!
It was really good...also, only 6 people to a boot, so when you book, you can almost get a boot to yourself...if there are 4-6 of you!

Oh, and they provide ear defenders!!!!
The guide did say they use a private lake so the usual problems with too many/too frequent rides, therefore no wildlife...don't tend to happen.

I don't know if Gatorland still do these trips, cuz we last went in 2003.....but worth finding out!

We have been to the one at Soutport Road not the Fish camp and have tried the regular large boat which goes every 20mins and we have done the private hire (for 6 people small boat).
We enjoyed both, but we saw so much more with the small boat because it move into the shallows and we awere able to see the alligator nursery areas which were fascinating.

We have also done the combo ride but would not bother with this again as we didnn't like the tractor and everything we saw fron it was staged. in our opinion. I do think some people would love the tractor it was just a bit too much of a jolting about on the back for nothing.
