Hi everyone, does anyone know a good church in Orlando we can visit for either new years eve, new years day or christmas eve or xmas day.

We are wondering if tehre is a religious way to celebrate xmas eve or new years eve. We normally do the dinner shows but want to do one religious night or day.

Doesnt have to be a particular type of church, a non denomination would be ideal, and they speak english.

There is a large church near to Dixieland Stampede. Mary Queen of Scots Shrine, that is Catholic but if you google "church services in Orlando" you will come up with masses (no pun intended)! of different faiths to choose from.

Try Faithworld, (take the Maitland turn off west off I4)

Non - denominational, black gospel style and very friendly

Watch them live on the internet (services 9.30 EST and 11.30 usually) plus Tuesday evening - at www.faithworld.com before you go to see whether it is the place for you.
We had a cracking service there yesterday morning

Do you mean Mary Queen of the Universe?
If I were to go then that is the church I'd have to go to, fantastic name that can't be beat...

Queen of England? nah
Queen of Scots? nah
Queen of the Universe? that's me

Perfect, this is exactly what we want.
Looks like a festival rather than a church.
Thank you very much

Another nice way to celebrate the Christmas message would be to attend the Candlelight Processional at Epcot - well worth it.

Thanks MTP. Sounds like a fantastic idea. Is the Candlelight Processional inside Epcot and do we have to pay to go and see hte procession on its own.

It is inside Epcot, so you will need to pay to get into the park. It is free to see it when you are in. There are usually either two or three showings a day, dependant on how busy the park is and it is at the America Gardens Theatre. At peak times you will need to queue while one show is running to be sure of getting a seat at the next! Alternatively you can combine this show as part of a dining package and be guaranteed seats at the show and somewhere to eat, we have done this is the past with the Tepanyaki Dining Room (Japan) and it usually works well, if you are really fancy you can then time it so that when your meal finishes you can go out on to the balcony of the Japanese restaurant and catch the fireworks. What a day!

Celebrity Narrators are:

Dec. 15-17 Kirk Cameron
Dec. 18-20 Neil Patrick Harris
Dec. 21-23 Cuba Gooding Jr.
Dec. 24-26 Gary Sinise
Dec. 27-30 Marlee Matlin

We have seen Gary Sinise present the show and he was very good. For further info if you go to the Disney Worl website and do a search for Canlelight Processional then you should find everything you need.

when we went one xmas we went to the church in the middle of Celebration.. It was a lovely service by a very charismatic pastor and we were made most welcome.

I'd definitley go again.

We have been to a couple of African Childrens Choir concerts at the Presbyterian church in Celebration and it is definitely a very welcoming community.

jtijani,

The concert were seperate evening events - they quite often hold things there. There website is:

I think we are both talking about the same church, which was the initial church built as part of Celebration.
