my daughters 6 month old kitten went missing this morning, when he was found, he had fallen from the 9th floor window, died instantly, now buried in my back garden, poor Ginge xx
we had been buzzing about what we're going to do and where we're going in florida, then this, they are heartbroken!
the mother cat, (belongs to his mum) has just had another lot of kittens, should they get another one to keep the sister cat they have company? they wont be rady to leave for a few weeks yet, but should they or shouldnt they? they were their babies!!
its so sad[grouphug]

Sorry to hear about their loss, its so sad when you lose a pet,i would go ahead and have another, nothing can replace the one that they have lost but animals are such a joy to a family,i lost my dog of 22 years 5 years ago but still keep his collar, and have another dog.Hope they do what they feel best for them

As someone who has a much loved cat - Sid, I can only send my heart-felt sympathy. No idea what they should do regarding a "replacement"...nothing really will, but I would be very tempted to get another one to keep the other cat company.

Oh Leisa, I am so sorry[grouphug]
We lost our cat of 12 years a few years ago, we then moved house and had a new caravan, so nobody to feed and look after a kitten if we had another one[msnsad]
I now have a few stray cats that come into our garden and I must admit, I feed them [msnscared] I know I shouldn't, the sad thing is now I feed these cats, if I did have a couple of kittens of my own, I don't think the strays would be too kind to them[msnmad]

If I was your daughter I definately would have another cat or maybe 2[msnwink]
Hope the other cat is ok.

Lovely photos of them liesa,at least you can keep the memories,i think the other cat would need another companion as it must feel the loss as well

they still have Tibbles, theyre now on their way home to go in the house without Ginge, very hard, they are truely heartbroken! we all been crying all day!
will let you all know if they get a new kitten to keep Tibbles company, they are indoor cats, so it makes it harder to know it was a stupid mistake on their part that cost him his life xx

How very sad Liesa. I think it is best to get another as soon as possible. When we lost our dog after 16 years I swore I didn't want another one. But 3 months later I had took in a rescue dog, and I was so glad.[grouphug]

Sorry to hear this. I lost a kitten (Kirsty) the first time we let her out. She wandered onto a main road. I was devasted and felt so guilty. It was just weeks before we moved to a house in a quiet, cat friendly area and got married.

We got another kitten after our honeymoon, which helped - we have fond memories for Kirsty - she used to lay across my husband's shoulders and loved going in one of my straw bags - all we could see was her head.

We now don't have any cats as we go to Florida for long holidays. The kids would like a dog but now its me, mum, who's not ready!

Oh Liesa thats so sad. I too have cats and would advise them to get another one. They will be company for each other. Especially as they will be house cats, at least they can play together and keep each other company.

they think they will get another one, and as her partners mums cat has had kittens recently, they may get one from her, not sure about another ginger one tho, i have just spoken with Terri and she had just come home from work and the kitty is at the door crying and Terri couldnt get the door open, she had to wait for her John to come in, only 10 mins but we were both crying down the phone, sad thing is, he landed at the entrance of the flats so you have to walk over where he fell, its breaking her heart and mine! everytime she cries i cry to
will miss him xx

Oh Liesa I am so sorry about the kitten.

I posted on here a year ago when my cat of 14 years died suddenly in the cattery while we were in Florida.

I know how you feel as a year on and I still miss her terribly.
