Oak Island Cove

Guys

Been thinking about renting a villa in Oak Island Cove next year. When i checked out the location using Google maps satelite imagery it looks like they are constructing a highway right beside this community. Does anyone know if this is the case and if so is it finished. Bit concerned about possible road noise spoiling my restfull vacation!!!!!!

Hi Mack, the road is nearing completion and is to the west of oak island cove,they have built an earth wall to seperate the road from the estate.Some of the villas bordering on to the construction had problems when they were initially starting on the road without doubt.
Our home like many other including Clare whose villa is just across the road from us are out of sight and hearing from the road due to us being on the East side of the estate.
We have had no comments off our guests at all about the construction,also on the occasions when we have been over the estate remains quiet and well kept as it always has been.
My advice would be to ask the owner for the location of the villa in relation to the highway if you are concerned about any noise as I can only comment on our villas position.
We fly out Thursday hoping for a restfull vacation as well!!!!!!!

I am the Claire mentioned by Eric and, whilst it is true to say that there was a lot of initial panic and scare-mongering about the road (not just for Oak Island, but also for the other bordering communities - Emerald Isle, Indian Creek, etc), I too have personally had no problems whenever I have visited and have had absolutely no comments from my guests during the entire construction phase. As Eric says, a few of the homes immediately beside the construction did have some problems initially, but nothing now. We were at our home in September and there was absolutely no problem with noise, even though construction is obviously on-going.

When i first saw the ariel pictures and realied that it was a road being built i felt really sorry for the villa owners whose properties border the road, it must have been a very anxious time for them. I am really glad to hear that they have not experienced any problems since the early stages of construction.

The particuler villa that i am looking at has a lovley view of the lake from their pool so i dont think that it is next to the road. Hopefully the earth walll will eliminate the road noise when the road opens to traffic.

Are your villas anywhere near the lake guys?

Mack, our villa is on a corner lot across the road from the ones on the lake,some of them have really nice positions on the lake and are lovely villas,I have been in a few of them,most are south east or south facing pool which gives you plenty of sun.
The lake ones are away from the new road.

I have just returned from Oak Island Cove 3 weeks ago, the road i was told will be a toll road. It didnt have any effect to our holiday and would book again because of the location, if i am right someone correct me if i am wrong, if the villa you want to book is over looking the lake it not near the new road.
The location of Oak Island Cove is easy to find we were in 'blooming amanda':D

The lake is about 5 doors down from my home, but I do know another owner who owns along that part of the street. Ali-uk is correct that the homes over-looking the lake (in Blooming Alamanda) are not near the road construction.

The great thing about the whole Formosa area (in my opinion) is that it is very close (half a mile) to many shops and restaurants and around 3 miles to the main gate of Disney. We love to go to Disney in the morning, come home at lunchtime for a snack and a refreshing swim and then return to the parks for the evening parades/fireworks.
