Ipods bought online and tax

Hi I forgot to ask in my previous post what is the situation
with buying an ipod online from USA and getting it posted.
Would I have to pay vat or tax in Ireland or I am sure it is the same
in England?

Anything over £18 will be subject to import charges/courier charges and duty. These can be very high if the items you are buying costs around this mark.
If you are thinking about an ipod expect to pay around £20-30 for these charges plus postage
