View Full Version : Renaissance Champagne Brunch
Having seen lots of recommendations on here for the Champage Brunch at the Renaissance Hotel, can anyone advise how far in advance I should book?
Hi Mary
As far as I know, they are in the middle of renovations & the Sunday brunch is off until they are completed....which means - horror of horrors - it's not even available at Xmas this year[msncry][msncry]It's a disaster really as I've no idea what to do instead, 'cos we were gonna be really decadent & go for Christmas and New Year!!
If you are planning your trip after that then I suggest you ring them & find out when they are planning to start again 'cos they will take bookings pretty far in advance.

Mary, Farida is right.
However, to answer your question about booking - in normal times for a Sunday you can book at short notice (within a couple of weeks). For holiday times such as Thanksgiving and Christmas then best to book early.
Not sure when they are re-opening - why not give them a call?
Enjoy! It's well worth trying - it's one of our favourites!

Sadly, yes it's true. We often visit the Renaissance for Sunday Brunch but could not this time.
The Gaylord Palms Hotel does an excellent Sunday Brunch and the Marriott on John Young Pkwy. is supposed to be excellent too (were going to try it during our visit over last two weeks but didn't quite make it!!)
Had "aufternoon teay" at the Ritz Carlton (next door to the Marriott) instead... also highly recommended !![msnsmile2]
It is wonderful and well worth going when it's back up and running. We did Thanksgiving Brunch last year at The Renaissance. I think the refurb is due to be complete in the New Year[clap][drinkbeer][drinkbeer][beer][clap][clap]
Can't wait to go again;)
PS It was Kevin that got me started on this...With the chocolate fountain photo[msnwink]
Hi
Many thanks for all the replies, we intended going in November this year for our anniversary which happens to be on a Sunday. I'm so disappointed that it's closed, but glad I asked you here. We need two venues, one for our anniversary and one for my birthday the next day. I'll do some more searching - I might be back with more questions!

Hi
After much searching I think I've settled on the Peabody. When will you be there Sally? We will be there Nov 12th.
I'll also book the ICE show at Gaylord Palms and probably eat at one of the restaurants afterwards.
Thanks for all your help everyone.
Mary & Sally hope you and your families have a great time at The Peabody. Please let us know how you get on there:)

We shall be at The Peabody on the 19th Nov. It's really nice because an old school friend who lives in Canada is coming to Orlando for a few days and they are coming too!!

We are taking 18 month, 2yr & 3yr old, I have mentioned this on my booking and they seem fine about it. The the last time we went my granddaughter was 7 months old, she was a little small for the high chair, the waitress bought a pure white linen tablecloth to support her at the back. Not sure what the price is now,

think it was only about $35
Very disappointed it was closed when we were there sept/oct. My mum had only been once -xmas 2001-so it was such a shame.
Wished I'd known about the marriott and ritz carlton kevin.
Been to the peabody several times. Very nice-well recommend it.
Our little chap has been to the renaissance twice and staff very good with him-plus no charge.
Can't believe they won't be open in time for lucrative xmas market.

I agree Alsion - I am so surprised they are having the refurb and losing 2 of their biggest days - Thanksgiving and Christmas. Wonder why they didn't do it at a differet time of year.
Could well be their loss if we all find other places to go.
