anyone any surgestions where to go for annerversary dinner?
dont wanna go to the most expensive. i was thinking maybe red lobster, any ideas of prices for red lobster?
cheers terry
Not sure Red Lobster is anniversary meal quality although the cheesy bread rolls are excellent! For prices visit www.redlobster.com/
Hi Terry,
I'm sure Red Lobster has a website so you could get an idea of prices, I have yet to try this restaurant but I'm sure lots of other people will give you info on it.
We have just returned from Florida and tried Bahama Breeze for the first time, I would give it 10 out of 10. This would be a good place to celebrate your anniversary.
We also had a wonderful meal at Villa-de-Flora in the Gaylord Palms, this was $26.99 per head not including drinks.
Hi Terry
We love Red Lobster, but for an anniversary meal you might want to consider Olive Garden or the Cheesecake Factory or Bahama Breeze. The Red Lobsters vary in quality, our nearest one is at the eastern end of Hwy192 but we always travel right down to Splendid China and visit that one there, we have found it to have the best atmosphere and food.

Hubby had a 3lb lobster from the tank at Red Lobster - it was just over $60
Cheesecake Factory is excellent and they have so many different meals - about 30 pages of menu, I think. Also, I have heard Bahama Breeze is good and am planning to visit there in November. They have a website too, so you can check menu/prices on that. Wherever you go, have a very Happy Anniversary. Is it a special one, Terry?

Red Lobster would be nice.
For a nice meal the diner in Celebration may also work - good meal and value, plus you could then take some time out around Celebration afterwards - sit at the lake, window shop, etc. You can also sit outside at the diner and take in the atmosphere of the town. Finally for an anniversary it might work because ... it is in Celebration!

Terry - try googling Bahama Breeze (if i put the link in it will get eddited). It has a very relaxed atmosphere, the food is excellent, they usually have live entertainment on in the outsider bar. It's also not too badly priced. We always go to the one on I drive and have never had a bad meal yet - it will be the 1st restaurent we go to on our next trip.[msntongue]

Have you thought of going to Vila de Flora at Gaylord Palms. If you haven't been before the setting is quite spectacular. We think it is excellent value for money and you know how much it will be from the beginning - no matter how much you have to eat!
We ususally find an excuse to go there.

Terry
Have you checked with your wife that she wouldn't rather have the $5 towards a new outfit, :)
You could always pack up a picnic basket and head for somewhere like Lake Louisa or Kissimmee Lakefront Park or as suggested Celebration park.
The Disney hotel restaurants usually are good quality and there is something to suit just about everyones budget, or you could go to one of the Luaus at Sea World or Polynesian.
How about a champagne breakfast instead of an evening meal to start the day off right?
Personally I wouldn't go to the Red Lobster as we had a bad experience there (I know it is often recommended so it could have been a one off but I certainly wouldn't go back!).
We will be celebrating an anniversary whilst we are there and we were looking at Gaylord Palms and the California Grill.

Terry,
For our anniversay we went to Victoria and Albert In the Grand Floridian, Disney - and it really was a wonderful experience. Great food - and a wonderful way to mark an anniversary....especially without the kids[msnwink][msnembarrased]

I've just dug out an old receipt, on March 4th 2005 we had
Beef Kabob - Fillet Steak kebabs on a bed of rice with peppers, onions and mushrooms - $15.99
Baby Back Ribs with frys and coleslaw - $19.99
Bud Lt 14 (think thats a bottle - $2.95
Bud Lt 20 (think thats a pint) - $3.95
and for pudding - to share - Banana Supreme $4.99
As with all things american - huge portions, excellent food and deserts to die for - we had to share because we where so stuffed! Hope this helps,
Diane

Hi terry.
You'd be hard pressed to find better than Dinner at HuHot.
The Damage: $11.99 a meal, which includes a soup or salad. There's really no reason to get an appetizer, as you can make multiple trips to the grill but for that special occasion the cheesecake rangoon is worth every penny of $6.99 and should be enough to satisfy three people.
HuHot is worth a look for those seeking a grill experience or looking for a casual, mildly-fun place to celebrate a special occasion. Interactivity is a key part of the "fun".
HuHot Grill lies a bit hidden on what might be called the access road around the Florida Mall parking lot
Or You could try:---
Downtown Disney hosts everyone from Hootie & The Blowfish to Goatwhore, but that's not where to go. Skip the big-ticket venue and slide over to the little band space inside HOB's restaurant.
Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, live blues bands play for free. They get going at arround 10:30 p.m. and keep going until the place closes. HOB calls that stage "The Blues Kitchen" but only one guy really, actually cooks: The Sauce Boss, Bill Wharton. Bill's playing, October 26-28, and November 30-December 2. You'll need to check that he's on.
Bill plops a big batch of homemade roux (browned flour and fat) into a cook pot and sings a little tribute to the first ingredient. As the night goes on, Bill will toss in broth, chicken, okra, rice, shrimp, crayfish, peppers, onions and his own hot sauce.
Just like the gumbo he'll serve at night's end, Bill plays a varied musical stew. Chicago blues, swampy Louisiana slide guitar, ZZ Top Texas boogie and straight-up Hendrix all go into the pot.
Cheap Treats: It's 1:30 a.m. and Bill's second set is winding up. The Sauce Boss calls his faithful fans to the stage like a preacher at communion. You step forward and the band hands you a little bowl of gumbo. It's about a cup and a half, not a huge serving, but remember it's free.
If you like the grub, you might throw a buck in the Sauce Boss' tip jar but that's up to you eh!.
If they don't take your fancy try the $4.99 all you can eat Pizza Buffet.
One of Orlando's newest and cheapest Pizza Buffet is at CiCi's Pizza,
The $4.99 Pizza Buffet is located on Vineland Road in South Orlando. It's located fairly close to Disney amidst expensive, touristy restaurants, The interior is clean and has comfortable booths where you can snuggle up together for that special moment or spread out as you please. Though it has, a fast-food feel there is a television to hold your attention while your waistline gloriously expands.
This is an all-you-can-eat buffet for only $4.99. This includes salad, pasta, and all the pizza you can eat. If you crave a soda, it'll cost you an extra $2, so tame your sugary sweet cravings before entering this food extravaganza.
I think the twisty pasta drenched in marinara sauce may fit the occasion. It's nothing special but it'll fill you up and leave you with only a hint of heartburn.
The pizza at this price point is what you'd expect but there is lots of it, and hey who's complaining at this price[msnwink].
The Pizza Buffet is a solid investment, even if the pizza isn't terribly impressive. Walk in, hand over your $5, and enjoy endless salad, some pasta......[msnsmile2]

I have just checked them out and I really liked the menu and the specials . We will try this one out next time after the Florida Mall shopping experiance of course .
How about Checkers on the 192 or you may stretch to Burger King for $10.Or really push the boat out and have the meatloaf at Cracker Barrell!;)[msnwink][msncry]
Maybe a nice card, and a cup of tea in bed? Come on now Terry, you need to push the boat out a little -she is worth it, putting up with you, surely :D :D :D

Have to agree with Lynne here. Not only is it great value for money but the food is out of this world. we went on a Greek theme night.
