We did this last year - but we had no wind what-so-ever and ended up being able to see the launch site when we landed an hour later.
It was all Mrs Pegs idea as she had wanted to do it for ages. Personally I would have given it a miss. I'm not afraid of heights at all - I've done freefall parachuting, bungee jumping, abseiling and the Old Town Skycoaster - but the thought of that naked flame next to the delicate silk just seems absurd to me.

Did you do this with Orange Blossom. The guy in the orange tee shirt in the first picture looks like our pilot when we did it

The twins are not here with us, we have come away for a week on our own
Its been great!
As for the reason for the water, a lot of it is to catch the wind and probably to show off too.
But a wonderful experience and a must do.

Our Pilot used to own Orange Blossom Balloons but sold it a few years ago and works for this company now on a weekend.

There is plenty of heat from the burners, being tall does have its dis-advantages too! :D

Did you book through this site?
Would love to do but do worry bout the landing, what was yours like?
Could the pilot navigate towards an area that you wanted?
Sorry so many questions just wondering whether to do when we are over at Christmas.:D[msnwink]

We have an excellent comapny who do balloon flights for us, the reports we get back are great. They use smaller baskets for a more intimate experience (some use large basket and get 10-12 per basket).

More info is here http://www.park-tickets.com/disney-parks/hot-air-balloon-flights-over-orlando.aspx

[/quote]Every day for a week prior to taking our Balloon trip a large number of balloons passed immediately over our villa. On the day we flew the wind was not in the right direction so had to go where the balloon took us.
You can certainly mention your preference but routes cannot be guaranteed unfortunately.

I travelled with a couple of nervous passengers but they soon forgot their fears and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Helping the guys prepare the balloon prior to flying and the champagne breakfast which followed was also fun.

Not sure if they will fly where you want but it wouldn't hurt to mention it!

The baskets on these Balloons held upto 5 passengers plus the pilot.

The take off was amazing, you didn't even feel yourself lift off the ground.
The landing depends on the wind speed etc but was definately different to what I expected.
Its just so peaceful as you float through the air! The pilots work with the winds to get the balloon where they want to go, its not just a case of up up and away!

Would definately do it again. Fantastic Experience!

Plus you get Champagne & Glass and also a Certificate if you want one.:D

The first time he did it they were!

This was the second or third time and felt quite safe.

My problem is I am 6ft 1in, the basket is about 3ft deep so you have to hold on, I didn't want to tip myself over the side. I could literally perch on the side with no trouble at all!

Fantastic pictures, thanks for sharing.

We absolutely loved it. It's amazing how different things look from the air, even when you know them well. We asked our pilot if he would fly us over our villas but we couldn't find them from the air! Then we realised we were near our condo so he took us over that instead, got some amazing photos. Would recommend it to anyone, Ellie and CDV you should try it, I'm sure you'd love it [msnwink].

P.S I'm such a wimp I go on very few rides (only the scenic ones like Pirates of the Caribbean [msnembarrased] ), so if I can do it anyone can :)
