Hi,
Could anyone tell us anything about hidden mickeys and other disney secrets that might keep our two grandsons (and us)amused while we are queuing in the parks. We have been to DW before, but have only just heard about them.[:I]
Many thanks

Paul and Sheila :D

Take a look at www.hiddenmickeys.org - they have all sorts of secrets revealed including reports of hidden mickeys. I'd advise not having too much of a look if you don't want to spoil the magic too much :).

There is one in the ground in the African area of AK, that a cast member pointed out to us, he was also showing another CM. Once we saw it it was really obvious. Unfortunately, I don't think we tokk a photo - I will check. If anyone wants more direct instructions then please PM me. BUT BE WARNED - it can become very addictive!

Just remembered another thing that we will maybe try this year with our two. As a change on the autograph hunting with a book, use an item of clothing and a permanent marker, eg a T-shirt or hat. The characters won't sign the item if it is being worn, but I think it would make a better momento than a book.

I've never heard of Hidden Mickeys before! Sounds a great way to pass time in queues (but do you get people walking round the parks with notepads???).

As an example, here's a hidden mickey we spotted outside the Peter Pan ride when we were at Disneyland Paris a few weeks ago.

There are books available that tell you where they all are, Mind you my kids wanted signatures
and photos instead

The Hidden Mickey's Web SIte mentioned above is well worth a visit, not only does it tell you where they are but it gives you lots of other insider facts and details on WDW.

We don't have any children but taking note of a few of the Hidden Mickey's locations before we went, gave us something new to look out for when we went on the various rides and attractions.

Hidden Mickeys can take various forms from, shapes in the pavement to hedging and flowers, even the plates on the Dining Table in the Haunted House in MK are placed in such a way to create the shape of Mickey's head.

The shapes can be full faced or in profile so keep your eyes open you never know what you might find.

Why not make a quiz sheet for the children highlighting where the Hidden Mickey's are so when they are waiting in line they will have something to keep them amused.

Great ideas DMC - I have to admit to spending many a happy hour trawling through all the great information on the mentioned hidden mickeys site.

I'd love to do one of the behind the scenes tours of the Magic Kingdom. If anyone reading this has been on one, can you perhaps start a new thread and share your experiences with us?
