I'd agree on the Outback for the best steak for everyday prices but for that real special occasion (or for all you mega rich people out there) Chris Ruth's has to be the best. The steaks are to die for, they are reallt delicious. The prices are to die for also - you almost have a heart attack when you see the cost and salads and veggies have to be paid for as extras. Mmm I'm drooling just thinking about them.

Chris Ruth's?
Never heard of it!
Whereabouts is it?

We were told that for the best steaks you need to go to a chop house-well I've yet to see one.

Has anyone come across one-or has even ben.
This was from a lady who loved her food!

Got to disagree about the steaks, Charlie's is the best steak house, Carrabas is the best Italian, they do the best wine at Carrabas as well, I have this on the highest authority as my friend drinks wine as a hobby !!

In support of Jacqui, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is an incredible dining experience although I haven't visited one in Florida. Apparently there's one on Sand Lake Road. We stopped in to a Ruth's Chris on the way back from the Blue Mountains and it is very expensive. We too were rather surprised that you only get your steak and everything else is considered a "side" and accordingly has to be paid for seperately. However, these side's are sizeable and easily shared and the steak is melt-in-your-mouth superb. The surroundings are rather special and they take great care of you, even when you're a bunch of tired, slightly dishevelled tourists with equally tired and dishelleved wee ones.

I've already given my support to Outback in another thread (the takeout option makes life so easy) but anyone tried Del Frisco's to corroborate the OS article?

Kind regards

Just to put a spanner in the works we did`nt like Outback I did`nt have steak but pasta it was very dry and the chicken a bit rubbery Keith had the streak and said he`d had better, it was a little disappointing as we had looked forward to a mega blowout there, still the Chocolate tower was fab

i got to disagree about Charlies the only steak that I have had as bad as there was Tj's and thats saying something. Just didnt enjoy Charlies especially as they never had half of the types of steaks that they were showing.

Charlies on I-Drive is over rated. Ruths Chris is on another level.

Whatever happend to the Kisimmee Steak House on 194 down towards St Cloud over the road from
K mart.I remember Don Johnson eating there when he was the star of Miami Vice. I believe it has closed but did the owners move location or change the name?

Whats the Black Angus like on the 192? We had a terrible meal in one in Los Angeles, being used to the large American portions a couple of us decided to share a steak. Not because we were being tight but because the steaks are usually huge. When the meal came there were about 5 fries on each plate, a stalk of broccolli and a bit of meat small enough to hide under a button mushroom. LOL!!! We all had a real good laugh about it afterwards, don't know who was more embarrassed us or the waiter!:D

You must be thinking of a different place. Charlies ages its own meat so has the steak in house. They show you the cuts on a tray before you order. If half the steak cuts were missing they simply would not open the doors. If they did have the cuts they simply pull from the ageing roon which has loads of sides to choose from.

I would disagree with Outback and Red Lobster. Best steak places are Charlies and Kissimmee Steakhouse by far.
Red Lobster - although a good family restaurant, I dont think the is that spectactular. Much prefer somewhere that serves fresh sea food and not frozen stuff.

Yup. Charley's is the one for steak. Have eaten there for years and no one can touch it.

Renaissance brunch is awesome for a treat. $40 per head for all you can eat with champagne and silver service. The same thing back in UK would cost over a hundred quid.

It isn't they have one on the 192 near Celebration and on Orange Blossom Trail. If you want even better (although Marginal) then Kissimmee Steakhouse in St Cloud is excellent and alos the staekhouse inside the Gaylord Palms is superb.

FISHBONES on sand lake at the intersection of international is probably my favorite anywhere in the usa. Their prok chops and fish, along with fried shrimp are incredible. it is quite oftebn rated in the top fish restaurants in the country. their steaks are also excellent. reservations are not a bad idea, they are very busy every night.

also if you like chinese, try KIM WU on kirkman road, just past turkey lake road and across from outback. their chinese is as good an any i have had in chicago or new york. i have heard through some locals that Arnold Palmer and Tiger drop by sometimes.

also checkout Firehouse Subs in the same strip mall as Kim Wu, their subs are awesome.

I have to go with Outback. Never had a bad meal yet, service is good and the starters are fantastic.

I agree about carabba's, really, really good.
