Planning our next trip[clap] and we were thinking of going at Easter. We usually go May half term and a week after and wondered if anybody knew how it would compare? We had a really bad flight back with Virgin last time (entertainment headsets not working for all 5 of us, broken seat for my 6 year old and flight attendents not coming for 15 mins when I pressed the buzzer, in the end 3 times, as my children were ill) They have offered 10,000 points on their flying club which seemed reasonable to me but would appreciate anybody else's insight. thanks very much

Hi Sammibabe! Sorry to hear about your last flight. I have to say we have always found Virgin to be fantastic, so I am surprised at the problems you had. I would definately recommend Easter time to visit Orlando for the weather especially! I have been in May and found it a little humid (for me). Do bare in mind that Easter is a busier time in the parks usually, but I think people add to the atmosphere[msnwink]

Sorry to hear about your flight, but as someone who works for a rival airline, I can say that things can go wrong and although the crew weren't much help either, I would take the offer and expect much better things this time. Virgin have a good reputation and you were probably just unlucky.
As for Easter, as Carol says a little cooler and busier. You may need a jumper for some evenings but most days will be lovely and warm

We have been in May many times and always find the weather lovely and the parks are always much less busy, never having to queue. The evenings are warm and you get very little rain. A time I would choose most definitely.

I would go to Florida any month and April is a great month to go weather wise. Easter will be busier but is to be expected. If I had to choose I would go for May as it is one of my favourite months and then December over Xmas as that really is magical.[xmas2]

We were in Florida last March into early April and after 2 days in the 70's, we were in the 80's the rest of the time.

We were in Florida at Easter this year and as ever it was great just being there but I'd go in May if I had the choice - the weather is perfect and the parks aren't as busy as at Easter - neither are the shops[msnwink.

you could try booking your flights using those miles

you need 2000 each miles for a miles plus money fare in economy

may be worth checking out how much you could save

What a dreadful experience you have had on the flight home, sorry to hear this. As others have said use the miles plus money as this option may work out cheaper for you. I have been both at Easter and May and must say I find May a lot quieter, although the weather has been good either time of the year, whichever you decide I am sure of one thing you will have a fantastic time.

We have been in FLORIDA twice in MAY one year a lot of rain and the next time no rain and lovely and warm so you do not get all months the same every year .Last year the residents were not surprised they had the hurricanes as said it was hotter then usual for MAY so mybe climate change is making seasons different .Hope you enjoy when ever you go .

Thanks to everyone for your help. Perhaps someone can help me with these miles. Could I use 2000 per family member. There would be 4 adults (older children) and 1 child travelling. Can I use the 10000 miles they have given against the flight?

We went at easter this year and had a fabulous time, however we also had a bad retun experience with Virgin. I was given 15000 miles as compensation however I'm actually reluctant to travel with them again.

Yes you log onto virgin atlantics website "flying club"

search for flights using the miles plus money option and available flights/prices will come up

i saved over £1000 using my miles but i'm flying prem economy for the outward led of the journey
