View Full Version : great vigin miles deal
have been looking for the last week and apart from an awesome deal from tcd leaving cardiff in the morning (mon 14th)4 person flydrive with a platinum jeep for £1600 there wasnt much about, but after fiddling about on the virgin site i remembered some of the more experienced owners talking about miles plus money
i clicked the link and in addition to the 'miles plus' fare there was an even cheaper option and it comes in half the current normal fare plus taxes. we saved £1500 at a cost of £1761 plus 8000miles for 4.
add to that a us car hire jeep and some of martins tickets and we shall be smiling at manchester airport on tuesday morning (holding our clear placky bags - lol):D

We're big fans of the miles plus money or free companion tickets from Virgin. I know not everyone always finds a good deal but we always have. Also in the past we have got a better option by phoning rather than just looking online.
Enjoy your trip,
andrew

Trev,
Can you elaborate please.
£1,761 plus taxes and fuel surcharge or £1,761 including taxes and fuel surcharge. i.e. what was the total cost and was that for 4 adults?
rob that was the all in price £1761...plus the 8000miles of course:D

Have a safe journey Trevor, take good care of your better half have a great holiday

We're looking at Miles plus Money for our Christmas break, we usually fly PE and wonder if it would be better doing this (saving about £1500 for 2 adults, 2 kids and an infant) or would we better buying E tickets and then upgrading to PE as at least we will still earn miles on the flight and therefore off-set the upgrade miles used. Miles plus Money flights don't earn miles[msnsad].

Anyone know if you can still sign up for the virgin casino and earn good points. I read somewhere that if you bet through about £100 you can earn 10,000 miles. Is this true ?

There was an offer which I took up, which was $20 stake (worked out at nearly £12 on my CC) which gave away 5K miles.
This offer ended in July. they come up pretty frequently though, so keep checking.

Where do these offers get shown ? Is it in the casino site or the virgin atlatic site ?

Usually on the Virgin Atlantic site.
The best way to get the offers, if you have a flying club account, is to register it on line, and then register with them for 'flying club alerts.' You will then be sent emails regarding any offers.
