Hi,

I have been to florida many times but this time we are taking the in-laws and therefore need a larger car than normal. I have looked at Alamo and also other companies but wanted some opinions as to which is best and what is the typical type of cars you get for that size. Unfortunately the website gives american car versions for Alamo and therefore it is hard to figure out what the alternative UK version would be. Ideally it needs to seat 7 people and also respective luggage. Any help would be greatly appreicated.

You will get all the information you need if you try Liesa's link. We use them all the time and they simply can't be beaten, on price as well as superb service.

You will certainly do much better booking a hire car from here, rather than direct with any of the car hire companies, as the rates are fully inclusive, with no nasty surprises when you pick the car up. Many rental companies do not fully explain all the 'extras' that are not included, so that when you arrive at the desk you are presented with a range of insurances which you really should not drive away without, and which could amount to several hundred dollars on top of what you have already paid.

If you book a car from Liesa's link you are guaranteed that there will be nothing more to pay, and you can be sure that you have every insurance which is necessary. For example, many companies simply include CDW, but you really should have UMP (uninsured motorist protection) and SLI (Supplementary Liability Insurance) for true peace of mind. The rates also include either 2 drivers,(silver), or unlimited drivers over the age of 25 plus a free tank of petrol with Gold cover (Dollar).

AM sure you will find the perfect car, and hope you have a wonderful holiday. :)[8D]

We have just hired a 7 seater from Dollar through this website and we had a Dodge Grand Caravan which is the same as a Chrysler Grand Voyager over here. There were 7 of us and because of the new way the seats can be stored under the floor on this type of car, there was plenty of storage under the floor (great to hide the computer etc when we were touring)and in the rear, which is dipped into the floor. We had 6 large cases plus 5 full sized hand baggage 5 teenagers and 2 adults. We did have to put the large cool bag between the middle seats though [msnwink]
