We use phone cards from Walmart $20 or $25 and these last us two weeks. My husband rings everyday to check on football news[msnsad]

Have you booked a villa?

Many include free national and international phone calls - worth checking if yours does if you are in a villa.

If you haven't already booked your villa then look out for one that offers free international calls - you can't get cheaper than that. It could make a big differnce if you need to keep in touch.

Also choosing a Villa offering Internet Connection will allow your husband to be kept up to dat with the football news :)

We bought the Walmart cards and they were great value for money. Got loads of talk time out of them and if they run out of credit you can top them up at Walmart and if you don't use it all you just save it up for your next visit!

We provide our guests with Free phone cards too, but if you are buying them the ones from Publix are good value.

We have used a phone service which our UK travel agents recommend.
You register so much credit before you leave the UK then all you do is ring a toll free number anywhere in the world, put your pin number in then ring the required number. It did work well for us before we got the villa but now we have free phones calls in our villa

Or if you have booked a villa with a computer they may have skype available to chat on line with others. And of course he could check the football results real time!

Last year we had free international calls which was a bonus but had bought a pre-pay card in advance. Hoping to use the card this year, if the need arises.

If all your friends have internet why not e-mail them and if the villa you are going in does not have a computer there are a few internet cafes the one we used is MANATTAN on the highway 192 he does a lovely cup of coffee as well it is near the big orange ball .

One of the main reasons we always look for a villa with internet access is that football crazy husband has to check the football results/news in Irish and English football first thing each morning. In fact he has become a bit of an expert on the laptop because of this much to the amusement of our kids who believe Dad came from the Stone Age and wasnt capable of handling anything technical. We always get a cheap call card which is fine for calling those you cannot email , though next year the free international calls has been added to my wish list .

We bought our son a card from walmart, cost $10 and he got 135 mins of call time to the UK.

We just use our moblie phones, which is OK for short calls, but can be pricy if you like to have long chats!

I always look for a villa with free calls and Internet and use skype if I can, i have to say we have made use of the calls and they have been a godsend, as we needed to keep in touch with home everyday.

It is always fun, keeping in touch with friends and family back home, when call are free.
With internet and a web cam, it is also possible to show your family what fun it is renting a villa rather than staying in a hotel.

This site has to be the best, as all you need to do is look at the adverts on the OV sites, as owners state whether they offer FREE phone calls and internet

We use iChat on the Mac's to show our older boys what they are missing when in Florida and its absolutely free too, and with ichat av we can have a 3 way ichat too[msnwink][msnwink][msnwink]

We always book a villa from this site with free international calls so we can keep in touch with our business too[msnwink]

The best value ones we got were from a liquor store next to Publix on the 27. $10 gets you 320 mins. If you use a payphone though 50cents is deducted as a surcharge. Phoning from your villa or hotel should be free.

if you dont get a value or top up type card and need a quick call we found the public phone boxes(we used ones at universal) have a number on them to ring( a few eextra zeos or ones in front) and you can get about 4. and half mins for a dollar then a spare minute. for 25 cents a cheap quick call[msnwink]
