Has anybody ever hired a Compact 2 door and if so, what was it like driving with all those monster trucks!

Yes, I had a Chevy Aveo,and it was OK. Wouldn't choose to have it but it was OK as a Gulf Coast owner, not too many trucks down my way.

We've had one. No big deal, it's only like driving a small car over here near trucks and buses.

No problem with the trucks etc-it's compact but not mini-the only thing I'd watch is your luggage space but if there's only 2 of you you'll probably be fine.

I don't like a compact if we intend doing a few trips to the coast or anything away from the Kissimmee/Orlando area but if it is trip when we are staying round and about then I think they are fine and are good value.

We hired a 2 door when we were first over 10 years ago, we were given a 4 door can't remember the make think it was japenese sounding. Bit of a squeeze with luggage, also went over to Cocoa Beach one day.
Wouldn't be my choice of car now but perfectly adequate then.
