On the hottest day this week a supplier sent me a package of chocolate!

Very kind thought, but you can imagine that what I received was a hot lake of chocolate!

Well Heather , I hope you haven't wasted the opportunity to repackage and remarket, put it in bottles and you can sell it as "ready melted" for the chocolate fountains or fondue sets.

Steph, there is a job for you somewhere!

We were at an event recently and someone was getting £2 a pop for a few marshmallows on a stick to dip in a chocolate fountain

....nice little margin there!

Fruit kebabs are nice too, strawberry, pineapple, grapes, I'm getting hungry now.

From these obscure leaflets that you get in Readers Digest etc you can buy a Chocolate Fountain-you plug it in, it melts the chocolate (supplied) and then "founts" it out at you-I've tried one and they are magnificent-try a jelly baby on a stick under the fountain--yummy! Just google it for suppliers and pictures

Argos and lots of other places do them as well now, I first saw them in Florida last year for domestice use but hubby wouldnt let me bring one back. I've heard disappointing things about the ones available here so haven't actually bothered to get one. You can get them for as little as £30.

We bought one and it was rubbish[msnsad] They failedto mention on the box that you have to mix the chocolate with cooking oil for it to work properly[sick]

yep it's true Julie you have to buy either pre-formulated chocolate at a whopping price of £9 for a 900gm packet or water the melted chocolate down with approx 100ml vegetable or sunflower oil

we bought our youngest one for christmas and it's been used about 3 times, it's bloomin hard to get the chocolate to "sheet" and then when it's finished with the amount of chocolate thrown away is ridiculous

we paid £50 for ours (argos) and it'll probably end up unused and dusty in the utilty after a few more goes

Mizzy

ps Steph we tried the melted chocolate on tap from cadburys world and not the watered down sort either[msnsmile2][msntongue]

We were amazed to see the chocolate fountain at the Bellagion in Las Vegas last year on holiday. Here is a link, can't comment on the company, but they came up as one of the first on Google:

http://www.chocolatefalls-scotland.co.uk/bellagio_fountain.htm

It is an amazing site to see, except it is completely enclosed to control the atmosphere around it so you can't get near the chocolate [msnsad]

Always reminds me of the Vicar of Dibley episode when Dawn French dives head first into the chocolate fountain and says "Just had to be done".:D
