Has any one tried the new Chilis restaurant at Champions Gate?
I think it was supposed to open in July. We love the Chilis on the 192 but Champions Gate is nearer.

Have visited twice whilst we have been here over the last couple of weeks.

Both the food and service have been excellent - it's very busy though so ring ahead for table around an hour before and they put you on the wait list.

Great - just down the road from us too. What sort of food do they do, is it just Mexican style?

We have drove past Chillis for years presuming that it was Chilli based foods. I have been to the one on 192 four times during this visit and I've got to say it's now one of my favourite eating places. Ooooooooooooooh that chocolate pudding.

It used to be a firm family favourite with us up until about a year and a half ago when they changed the menu and took all the veggie options off. Now there's nothing for us on the menu, which is a shame as we used to love going to Chilis [msnsad]

Chilis on the 192 is one of our favourites too, and only 5 minutes from the villa it's an easy option that keeps everyone in our family happy[msnwink]With the one opening on Champions Gate, there may be less waiting time for a table.

They also do a great "To Go!" menu

Sorry to hear they don't do any veggie options for your family John.

Thanks for that link Linda - the menu looks great, I like the sound of the honey bbq Sirloin [msntongue].
The "To Go" menu will also be very handy, must give it a try when we get there in August. Only 4 weeks and counting! [msncool][msncool][msncool][msncool][msncool]

Wow!! Thanks for the menu link Linda:) I will definately be popping into the Champions Gate one in October, now I have read the menu. It looks really lovely:) We too have never made it in to one of those restaurants, but I am sure it is set to become a firm favourite in the future. Something else to look forward to [msnwink]

Just some more info. for everyone.

We found the best on the menu for adults were the fajitas and the teenagers and youngsters in our party loved the battered chicken strips. The pasta dishes were also very good.

All drinks were BOGOF (including alcoholic ones) each time we visited. The strawberry daquaris were very popular amongst us!

We love the place/menu and have also done the Chilis to go menu as well. Cannot comment on the Veggie option as noe of us are veggies
It can get busy during the evening time but the longest we have had to wait is 15 mins and they really do take time to look after the kids.

We went again last night and are pleased to report that the old veggie options seem to have been re-instated on the Guiltless section of the menu, including all burgers on the menu which can be bean burgers instead of the meat burger.

We visited Chillis at Championsgate last week. It's quite a big one with a bar area too.

The fajitas were lovely - we had the full 1 pound option for 2 and couldn't finish them.

Plenty of people were getting 2 go boxes and there is a section of the restaurant that is just for people ordering/picking up their take aways.

Picked up a menu for the villa[msnsmile2]

I've had an email from Chilis stating that they cater for coeliacs so we will be giving this venue a try.[msnwink]

We just got back and while we were out we ate in Chillis at Champions Gate twice, we love Chillis, however we did have one bad meal while we were there and it has put us off a bit. My and my Husband's meal came out luke warm, I tried a bit of the steak and it was unacceptably cold, we sent it back to the kitchin, 20 minutes later it came back - the same steak (I recognised the bit that I had eaten) all they had done was put a blob of butter on the top and it was so cold it hadnt melted!) The manageress came over and said she would get a brand new meal, again we waited, eventually it came after 20 minutes, the sauce on my husbands ribs didnt look fresh it looked a bit dry looking, plus there was only 4 (he had 6 before and had eaten 2) so looked like the ribs were the original ones again!! The rest was ok though. By this time we were laughing about the whole thing, when the manageress came back to check it was all ok we asked how many ribs a pig had "did it vary from pig to pig" she didnt understand our humour or what we were getting at and said that "yes it does vary from pig to pig!!!" By this time our kids had eaten over 45 minutes before us, so they gave them a desert free of charge. When the bill came over I explained that I would pay for mine and my husbands meal but wouldnt pay for the kids, I thought that was fare and they agreed. Im not a picky person this is the first meal i have ever sent back to the kitchen. Having said that we would got back again because we do enjoy our meals at chillis (even though they have 4 ribbed pigs!!)

We too love Chillis, but have had a bad experiences twice at the one at The Crossing:

The first one was a time that the toilets were absolutely swimming with water and wery in quite a shoddy state - although we pointed this out to our server they just didn't care - don't know if they were having an ongoing problem at the time, but it would have been nice to have been reassured a little that they knew about the problem and were dealing with it.

The second time, same restaurant, and the waitress was just downright rude. We then got the bill with a photo of her daughter on the tray that they present it with. Normally we tip very well, but she very pointedly declared that service wasn't automatically included when I didn't add anything to the CC slip - I told her that I knew that and that I was well aware of what a normal tip would be. I left a very small tip.

Still, we have had other meals there that have been absolutely great so I think that these are both slight hiccups and perhaps also due to the problems of employing staff in a seasonal/tourist location.

Tried Chilis last year on the 192 but didn't really enjoy it[msnsad]

Have decided to give it another go and think we will try the one at Champions Gate.

Problem is we have never been to Champions Gate, can someone tell me were it is. We are staying on the 27.

No Carol it has not chilled off yet[8D]

We went a bit early so a few kids running around but the service was good and the food choices we made were nice, I was a greedy guts and had the Trio Grande and Mr CDV had a steak. All washed down with the obligatory cocktails (3), Mr CDV had coke..bless him! So we left happy and we will go back, it's nice to have it on the doorstep as although we have been to Chilis before it was great to be back in the villa after just 5 minutes.

Jill there is one building still in the process of going up but we are not 100% sure what it is as it has no signs up yet so it could be TGIF!!

There's a great Chillis on the 192, near Poinciana Boulevard, which we've been to and loved the food, especially the deserts. [8D]

We have eaten at a few different Chillis and have never had a bad meal. It has always been yummy with great service. I suppose those that had a bad experience were just unlucky. Lots of people rate Charlies but I didnt rate it at all, maybe we just went when it was a bad day. I wasnt all that impressed with the Outback either but the others in our party liked it.
