Anyone recently stayed on this community? How far from Sandford Airport? Any views would be good.
Thanks[msnsmile2]

Hi ,
We are next door to Calabay at Four Corners and it is a great place to be, it takes around an hour to drive from Sanford and about 45 minutes from Orlando International airport, but it is a good drive through and the community is very easy to find. The owner should give you detailed directions fron either airports to the villa you are staying ( thats what we do ! ) Just up the road is Berry town where you will find some great shops, a Publix, chinese take away, Pizza, wine shop , banks etc . In the other direction there are some great places to eat, but as I said , ask the owner and I'm sure they will be happy to give you all the info you need for a great holiday.

Hi Vicky

We stayed on Calabay Parc this year and thought is was wonderful, so clean and well cared for. The villa we stayed in was amazing. The only thing we did notice was the noise from the cars on H27. Could only here it at night but we were usually soooooo tired that it didn't interrupt our sleep. [msnsmile]

Everything was easy to get to via either the 192 or I4. Shops either off the I4 at Champions Gate or just up the road to the North on H27. We have stayed on the H27 so we knew it would be a good base for our last stay.

We flew into MCO and it took us around 30-35 minutes to get to the villa so I shouldn't think it would be to much different from Sanford.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies guys[msnsmile2] We have been three times and twice stayed on Lindfields, just wandered at the difference in drive times i,e to and from 192 and airport etc. We don't go until next year and I am sure the owner will post directions etc nearer the time, just wanted to do our homework [msnwink][msnsmile2]

Hi Vicky,

We own a Villa on Calabay Parc, so are probably a little biased.

Calabay Parc is a lovely community and very well maintained. The Home Owners Association works very hard in maintaining the community. It is ideally located for access to both the 192 and I4 with plenty of amenities located close by.

It is approximately 50 minutes from Sandford Airport.

We have never heard the traffic on Highway 27, but our Villa is set well back from the Highway.

Kind Regards,

Clair.

Last time I drove through it was a very clean well looked after place...that was in May...I like it enough to rec it to friends looking for a place to rent...[msnsmile2]

It can be a bit quiet out of season I'm not sure if many local people live there...but I don't look on quiet as a downside in a holiday home..I would no be unhappy to pull up to a home there for my 2 week break...I think you will be more than happy on this community..everyone I know who has stayed there has been...[msnsmile2]

Hi Vicky

We have always allowed ourselves about an hour for travelling to and from Sanford but it is an easy run down 417. Calabay is probably about 5 miles further on from Lindfields if you are travelling down 192 but you also have the option of getting to it via Champions Gate which is usually quicker. Don't worry - your owner will send you lots of info closer to the time [msnwink]

We have guests in our home at the moment (on Calabay Parc), and they flew into Sanford airport from the UK, I sent them directions and they confirmed today it did only too them 1 hour door to door (so to speak :))They didn't mention any traffic issues along the route either
:) They had barely been on Calabay and were already saying they wished they were going to be there longer[msnembarrased] I thought that said it all really:)

Just returned from Calabay Parc on Sunday (boo)[msnsad]

It really is a lovely place, very quiet and peaceful.
A bit of travelling required to the parks, but a wonderful place to relax. Nearest store is a small Publix 3-4 miles away, good take-away Chinese and Pizza restaurants in the same location. Just have to get round to that trip report.

We are buying a place at Calabay Parc at Tower Lake - a little further down the H27. The villas are really super. Phase 1 has just about finished and it will have the added bonus of having a boating lake and clubhouse. Worth checking out! Hope you enjoy your stay.

We are just off the US27 on The Abbey at West Haven but were torn between the 2 communities when we bought 5 years ago. I'm sure you will be really pleased with Calabay Park, the homes are lovely and although the US27 is very busy and a bit noisy by day it gives great access to all attractions, shopping, airports (1hour -Sanford, 35 mins Orlando), both coasts.
Just keep counting the days and enjoy your holiday when it comes around.

Hi Supersneak

Glad you enjoyed your stay at Calabay, I'm guessing you're talking about the Publix at Champions Gate?? There's actually another one that is closer next to Highlands Reserve, which is less than 2 miles from Calabay. You'll hvae to book another trip and try it out[msnwink]

I was curious about that distance Caroline!! [msnwink] Glad you confirmed the nearer Publix:) We don't find anything too much of a distance from Calabay:) The place is kept so immaculate, and it is nice and peaceful after a hectic day at the parks. [msnwink]

I think I probably over estimated the distance. It was the one with Mia Pizza and Bamboo Wok, but I'll have to go back to check.[msnsmile2]

Orlando airport will be even closer Vicky:D Should be about 35 mins to Calabay! :D Mention your arrival airport to the villa owner and I am sure they will send you instructions:) Alternatively, you can ask on here and we can supply driving instructions:) Have fun[8D]
