just got back from wdw what a fantasmic time , but universal in their wisdom have started giving out notes when you pay to park, that you are no longer allowed to bring in any food or coolbags.
we had food in a cool bag but security just let us through so dont know if they are going to start to enforce this.

We have just returned and we never got a note about this. We took big cool boxes in both Universal and IOA without any problem.
We did there meal deal as well which is worth looking into. You can eat as much as you like in 3 restuarants for $19 adults and about $12 kids.

We looked at the meal deal and thought it would be good value if staying at the park all day - something that we never really did because the kids got tired to quick.
As it is we have never considered the food to be over priced in the parks anyway - cetainly not by British standards.

That may be more to do with security and bag checking rather than anything else.

We have always found the restaurants in Universal and Islands to be good value. We particularly like the Irish restaurant in Universal.

we like mama melrose in universal. on that meal deal score you can pay to eat and drink in both parks. we tried it one day but spent more time eating than actually going on the rides ! doh[grin][sick][sick]

where do you pick up the meal deal, is it a voucher as you go in or can you do it in one of the restaurants?

You can do either Michelle - though you can only buy them from the participating outlets
