When we were there last year we found the queues for the rides quite lengthy. However, in the afternoon at around the time of the parade, we decided to skip the parade as we had seen it before. So we decided to see if the rides were still functioning. To our surprise they were and what was more there were hardly any people queuing. So we managed to get on the rides almost immediately and the ones we enjoyed we were able to go on them a second time without any delay.

I guess it would be hard with kids as they just love the parades. But it is worth considering.

Has anyone experienced this?

All I could add to that is that you need to get near to the ride(s) you want to go on before the parade starts as the Disney Staff stop people crossing roads etc and you can sometimes not get to where you want to go. But it is a good idea and particulary Toon Town gets deserted.

No real queues now as the main rides such as the Rock n Roller coaster, Tower of Terror and Star Wars ride are all now fast passed. The passes are all taken by about midday and you cannot get another fast pass until the one you have has been used or the time on it has expired, so go on all the fast pass rides in the morning when you can. The Little mermaid show which is always busy is also fast passed now.
