We're planning on heading to the Gulf Coast for a Honeymoon later in the year. What's the Gulf water like in early November - is it pleasantly warm - or getting on the cool side. I realize this is a subjective matter, but your views would be welcomed.
Thanks

It depends on which part of the Gulf coast you're going to!

Key West (south Florida) sea temperature in November is 76F, Naples (mid Florida) 73F, Pensacola (north Florida) 65F. The mid part of Florida on the Gulf coast the water temperature should be a minimum of 68F. For instance, Naples is 66, 66, 71, 77, 82, 86, 87, 87, 86, 81, 73, 68 (all F) starting in January to December.

When we went over to vist one November we had a drive out to Clearwater. We did go into the sea and although a bit cool I found it fine for swimming. Bit like the sea here in the UK in the Summer!!

We have been over late Oct-early Nov and were able to swim in the sea at Englewood Beach. According to Google the temp should be about 73 in the Englewood area. The water was pleasant and the beach was lovely and quiet.

I've just got to go! As we are just the two of us this November (and not 6 or 8 as usually we are) we intend to drive around more and see many more areas and beaches etc. We love to do this and can do a bit more research for when the children come back with us another time. It's so nice to find that quiet beach somewhere and plan to go return with the children. Our 22 year old son is going with his partner and another friend (on their own) this month and have numerous places they plan to visit - most of which we have never been to, so hopefully they will be doing their bit of research for us too. I just can't wait to get over there again. Seeing your pictures Andrew, just makes me imagine sitting on a chair by the waters edge, feeling it lapping at my feet. And not forgetting sitting at the bar!![msnwink][drinkbeer]

Francine- Do try to make a visit to Boca Grande near Rotonda. It is such a quaint island and fantastic beaches. Novemeber water temps should be nice. After a trip to Boca Grande you'll certainly want to plan a return visit!
