My Daughter is going to Uganda soon. Is it possible to buy Ugandan shillings outside of Uganda? We are receiving different information on this. Any help would be very much appreciated.
I have a feeling that you cannot get purchase shillings in the UK and that any left at the end of a trip are meant to be converted before leaving the country, but any reputable foreign currency exchange would be able to tell you. If you can get them here they would have to be ordered.
Thanks Jill. I have checked and you have to get them there. A travel agent and the person organising the trip said to get the shillings here, then another said get them in uganda. I'm nervous enough about this trip without conflicting advice!
I would consider taking some US dollars. I can't speak for Uganda, but I have found that almost anywhere in the world will take dollars in place of their own currency.
