View Full Version : Animal Kingdom
Hi Again,
Thanks for all your replies to my previous post regarding a planned visit in March.
Has anyone been to animal kingdom since the new Mountain ride was installed? We went last time and to be honest did not really enjoy it. We are therefore thinking of doing Bush Gardens as we have never been however it is a bit of a trek. So does the new ride make it any better/have there been any other improvements since 2004?
Also can anyone tell me how to access my personal messages?
Thanks
Animal Kingdom seems to divide loyalties. As a family we really enjoy it, as it is a more relaxed day out, and my boys are just waiting to get on the new ride in 6 weeks time.
If you have not been to Bush Gardens it is well worth the trip down to Tampa, and only takes about an hour from Orlando. There are more animals, and some fantastic roller coasters to try out, including an old fashioned wooden one. Its a good day out, and a bit different from other parks.

We did Busch Gardens 2 weeks ago (Monday) and walked onto most of the rides. The longest we queued for was the Rhino Rally ride which only too us 15 mins. We like BG much better than AK as it not as busy and has more rides/attractions to do but It goes down to personal preferance.
From Kissimmee it took us 1 hour 15 mins.
If I had to choose it would be Busch Gardens. There is something for everyone, and my youngest loves the animals, whilst my eldest love the rides, everyone is happy. Have yet to try the new ride at AK, but am sure I will still go back to Busch for the variety.
We went back to Animal Kingdom on our last visit - we hadn't been there for 3 years. At Easter you needed to queue for the shows quite early and we couldn't get into see the Lion King show this visit. However we all enjoyed ourselves more than we thought we would and we loved Expedition Everest (our family has done a write up on OV for this ride). We go back in 8 weeks and all want to do Expedition Everest again.
I can't compare to Busch Gardens as I haven't been there for 15 years! I'm sure my girls would enjoy the rides and the animals.

Busch Gardens is fantastic if you enjoy roller coaster type rides, they come in all shapes and sizes. Well worth the drive[msnsmile2]
We love Animal Kingdom but if you wnat greater diversity especially with regards to rides go to Bush Gardens. It is certainly worth the extra travelling time especially if you have never been before or have not been for a number of years.

We went to Busch Gardens last year and everyone loved it. There are loads of rides, especially roller coasters but our favourite was the Rhino Rally. You also get up close to lots of animals.
Do love Animal Kingdom though especially the parade.
Great times whatever you decide.

I love Busch, something for everyone there and a lovely day out.
Went to AK earlier this year for the first time and enjoyed it half a day. The animals and rides at BG are much better and well worth the visit.
My family all love AK but tend to choose it for a 'quieter day' or even half day. A holiday just wouldn't be complete without a trip to see the Lion King Show - it is absolutely fabulous (even after 7 trips!). Also on a very hot day there are lots of really cool shady places. Even the teenageers still love the animal safari and a Bugs Life but their favourite has to be Kali River Rapids! Not been on the new ride as yet. I love the whole 'feel' of the Asia part - really makes me feel as though I'm in somewhere like India. Love it!
Having said that we have also been to Busch a few years ago and there did seem to be some bigger rides so as ever........... depends on what you're looking for. In an ideal world there would be all the time to do everything......... in the meantime we just have to keep going back for another trip!!!!!!!! (Shame!!)[msnwink]
If you didnt really enjoy Animal Kingdom on your last visit, I would recommend that you try Busch Gardens. It is well worth the one hour drive, the rides are some of the best in Florida and the whole park is fantastic.[msnsmile2]

The first time we went to Animal Kingdom we found that we left early. We then went again last year and really enjoyed our day there and spent the whole day there.
We also love Busch Gardens, husband and girls enjoy the big rides but I also have a great day without going on the roller coasters.

Have to say the same as previous post about Busch. The ones who go on big rides really enjoy the day but I do too. The ones who could go on Sheikra loved it. We were told during the train ride that there are only 3 vertical drop rollercoasters in the world and it is the only one in the States.
