I think you missed out sleeping..and going to the bathroom...[msnsmile2][msncool]

You would need around 3 months to do all that with ease[msnoo][msneek]

There are 32 (if I can add up) things on your list, at one a day thats over a month, with travelling to Daytona, Miami and Clearwater one a day is pushing it[msnscared] How long are you planning to be out there on this trip?

Personally I think its madness but that's just my view[msnwink]

What about chilling and relaxing[?][?][?]

We have been going for over 20 years and have not done some of the things on your list, I think you need to scale it down, its a case of less is more[msnwink][msnsmile2]

Unless you are going for a couple of months you are not going to get it all done. We have just returned from Florida after spending 17 days there and we did about 12 days out and about but were very tired at the end of it.

On the positive side, some of your activities/attractions are night time such as:

NBA Basketball - Hope you are travelling when the season is on!
Cirque du Soleil
Candlelight Procession (EPCOT)
Osborne lights (MGM)

Still very optimistic. Don't forget to book your next holiday to recover from this one! [msncool]

Hi Chris,

The planning, is part of the excitement of any trip to Florida and so I can see why you have already got an extensive list of things to do.
I can tell you that we could probably double or treble that list if we all started to add our favourites and that is why Florida is such an incredible hoilday destination and the reason why so many of us return again and again.

You are obviously planning on being there around Christmas time so the daylight hours will be shorter and the parks and resorts will be sparkling in the evenings. With this in mind I would forget about the long distance travel (Unless of course you are thinking about a 2 centre holiday and staying on the beautiful gulf coast for some time)and concentrate on the many wonderful things there are to do within a 25 mile radius of where you are staying.

During the winter months, you will find that it is a choice of either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon as they close them in turn for refurb.

As a specific must do to add to your list then I would say that Celebration should definitely not be missed at Chritmas time.
A drive by the houses in a horse drawn carriage is on our must do list.

Have fun with your planning.[msnsmile2]

Don't think you will get through all of these but never mind, you can plan a few more holidays out there to make sure you cover the whole list!!:D:D

you will need a holiday to get over this one
if you do everything in 14 Days
we always make a List ,but always leave some places out so we have to go Back [msnsmile2][msnsmile2]

I think you need to prioritise your list as you will never get that lot done in one trip. If you did a third of it you would have done well.

There are also lots of what I would term second level attractions like some of the crazy golf courses that you have not even listed.

Wow, what a holiday that would be!!!

Start with the number of days you are staying, add the parks, leaving at least a day in between, then add the less foot weary trips to the gaps.....then do the same for the next one [msnwink] As you have at least two long holidays there. When you are finished, I'm sure people here could fill a third :D

Happy planning

The timings of seasons my cut your list down naturally.

Obviously Christmas is set but the celebrations start from end of November after Thanksgiving so some of them will be available, baseball season is around Feb-Oct and basketball from Oct-March, so unless there are pre season/end of season friendlies may not be possible to do both.

You say your trip is many years away so this is obviously a wish list but the beauty of Orlando is as well as the old favourites there ar enew things added all the time. For instance in 2008 Sea World are planning to open their new park (started already) which will be a cross between Typhoon Lagoon and Discovery Cove, which sounds wonderful.

Things close as well, on our first trip to Orlando we enjoyed Disneys Discovery Island, next year it was closed and then River Country water park closed before we had a chance to venture there.

There are hundreds more things we could add to your list but I think you will need to scale back rather than expand to get the most out of your holiday. Even better if you plan 2 trips on successive years but spread them right, for instance, September 1 year and then June the next you could buy annual passes to the major parks and not have to worry about the cost of them the second time.

Can anyone tell me if the annual passes are based on calendar years or the date of purchase? We have certainly underestimated how often we would visit the parks over the last 3 years and we would have saved a fortune by buying annual passes. :D

They are based on the day you buy them.
They run for 366 days and run out the day after you bought them a year later.

We're going to get some APs when we go over in 2 weeks which will mean no money to pay out for tickets for our next visit in Dec/Jan. [clap]

It also gives us the option of a trip next April/May if we find cheap flights.

I love Annual Passes as you don't get the feeling of wasting a day if you pop into a park and decide after a couple of hours it's too hot/too busy...other perks as well such as free parking and discounts of course.

As for the list, that's a lot of ativities to take in.
Someone pointed out prioritising it, I would do that and then have a flexible plan. If you need a rest day then take one, people won't enjoy it if they are dog tired and the experience won't be as good.
Think quality rather than quantity...

Another thing to do is not to think you have 'missed out' if you don't manage to do something, just plan another trip to take in the things you didn't manage to do; believe me there will be many....

That list made me tired just reading it [msnscared]

It's fine to plan to do lots of things so long as you don't get too disappointed when you can't fit it all in. It is supposed to be a holiday after all [msnwink]

We have been quite a few times now but still haven't made it to the beach. Oh well theres always next time[clap]

Gosh that is a list. One of the things we enjoy is having some 'down time' on our holiday. As has already been said prioritise the 'must do's' from the 'would like to do's', then you won't be getting stressed that you are going to miss things out[msnsmile]

Wow thats a list and a half, I need a holiday after reading it.[msnwink][msnsmile2]

Have fun, sounds as though you will have plenty to do.[msnsmile]

The whole list is about what good attractions are available, so we can pick and choose what we want to do reflecting the mood we are in that day. As we have been to most of these (exept the christmas events) we are happy to do only what we feel like.

We are going to be there for a month.[:P]

Great list, what about adding Celebration if it`s Christmas time you are going. You can drive around and look at the houses all done up for Christmas as well as being at the Market Place when they turn on the snow.

Is it just you and another adult or are there kids involved?
What would you do if one of the kids loved Magic Kingdom/Epcot/Universal so much they wanted to do it again - and again - and again......
It is a huge list with not a lot of room for flexibility. I've seen the word 'optimistic' used already and I would certainly second that.

If you are going to be there for a month how about spending either 2 or 3 weeks in Orlando then a week on the Gulf Coast eg near Tampa and covering these from there (you may get in a game at the Tampba Bay Orange Bowl as well). This will save quite a bit of driving and give you chance to visit the beaches as well although they may be a little cool at Christmas.

Busch Gardens
Clearwater
Cypress Gardens
Fairground
Tampa

St Petes is another that is nice down that way.

Or if you didnt want to wait till the last night before coming back to the airport you could do a 2/1/1 split with Orlando.
Miami is too far for a day trip so may need to be another couple of days away, in which case, if you are doing that you could also go to the Florida Keys/ or Ft. Lauderdale at the same time.
It may be worth looking into the option of flying into one airport and out of another to save on the driving time.

I'd also, if it were me and I was going for a month want to get to see some of the natural attractions that Flroida has to offer as well as the man made, eg
Blue Springs (in winter months the manatess swim down to here from further north to the warmer water so you can see them in their natural environment.
Homossassa Springs
Kelly Springs
Lake Louisa
Disney Wilderness preserve is one of their parks that actually doesn't cost a fortune to get into only a couple of dollars each and you can have a buggy ride with a guided tour to seem some of the wildlife.

The State parks charge something like $4 a car load and are a great way to spend a relaxing time with the family maybe take a picnic or some have bbq areas where you can cook your own food.

Can you see why some of us owners go back time and again as we have so many places yet to discover and the list grows with each passing year?:)

Blue Springs is a definite must for winter months and what about Sanford Zoo.
