We always go at Easter and there are plenty of Easter gifts in the shops so I think you will be able to find something for your two young sons.

Not exactly Easter eggs as you know them in the UK... but lots of Easter bunnies, chicks, etc - like this one. [easter1]

You can take chocolate with you so if your kids will be desperate to have something just like home then no probs. It might be educational though if they spent a proper American Easter just for one year.

The childrens Easter basket gifts are huge for around $10 so I'm sure your children won't be too disappointed if they don't find their traditional Easter eggs (they are only just beginning to appear this year we found), but not to the same extent we have here. My daughters American boyfriend was over here just before Easter and had never seen Easter eggs.

They have lots of Easter egg hunt kits as well so Im sure the children will find that great fun if you arranged one for them,

Thanks for your ideas....you've certainly given us food or should I say chocolate for thought!

If you have not yet fixed your accommodation you may want to put out an enquiry on the three villa sites above as many of the villas are booked up a year ahead for popular times like Easter.

If your kids are set on having chocolate eggs, I'd pack a couple in the cases before you go because my own kids have never found American chocolate palatable and the youngest got upset at the American chocolate alternative.

Thanks Dave - We've already submitted a general enquiry and had the tremendous task of trying to choose between the villas .....that was HARD!We are in the process of completing a booking form and forwarding a deposit....But you're right - We've discovered Easter flights are quickly becoming unavailable.

This year, I found Cadbury's Cream Eggs, a Cadbury Choc bunny, and some nestle eggs -however, in PUblix or any supermarket you can buy Pinatas, baskets etc and fill to your hearts content -I once did an Easter Egg hunt followed by a pinata -great fun!!

We had our first ever trip to the US at Easter and had a lovely Easter Brunch. We were impressed at how beautifully decorated everywhere was for Easter. We always decorate our villa at Easter and this year we put a complimentary basket of Easter Goodies on the table as a welcome gift.
Have fun - the Easter Bunny will find you wherever you choose!

I know, but if I'm absolutely honest - it's probably me rather than the children who would miss the chocolate!....There's something about easter egg chocolate!

Have to say that I love the Easter Egg chocolate as well. Don't know why but somehow tastes a lot nicer!
