How far in advance can you book meals at a Disney Hotel or Restaurant, we are going in July and really don't want to leave things until the last minute.

I think it is 6 months in advance but if you are going in July you can definitely book now.
Book as soon as possible Paula, you can book now - they are sure to be busy in July[msnsmile]

I wouldn't panic too much about booking up Paula, unless you are looking for the popular character meals etc, that would be worth while. If you are quite flexible, you would "in most cases" be able to get in to one of the many choices :) Good luck, let us know which ones you pick and what they are like too[msnwink]
do you need the ps phone number Paula or do you already have it?

Well as you all said BOOK EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't.
I have only just planned our itenary and tried to book Chef Mickeys for the day we visit Magic Kingdom.........fully booked. I'm sure the girls will be pleased with the replacement though 1900 Park Fayre at The Grand Floridian to dine with Cinderella and Prince Charming.
I also tried to book The Rainforsest Cafe in DTD but was told they don't have reservations in this restaurant so we have booked to go to the one at AK[msnsmile2]
Can I get the monorail to The Grand Floridian or is it within walking distance?

Caitlin makes sure you take lots of money to 1900 Park Fayre. We went for Dinner and it cost us $280 for 4 adults and 4 kids.
We had a great time and my little girl who was four loved it.
We did Chef Mickey for Breakfast and it was no where near as expensive as this meal.

I didn't ask the prices but was told by the reservation staff that this is a buffet restaurant and the cost for dinner is $28.99 for adults and $13.99 for children.
thats about the same as what we paid last march in the grand floridian, it is lovely Paula and the girls will love it
is it the storytime meal at teatime that you've booked or a breakfast buffet?

It is the story time at 5pm, can't wait, I'm not telling the girls.
Just to add, Disney priority seatings are normally made available 90 days before the date you want.
Already got my plans for ringing WDW in September for December meals(Daughters birthday, wedding anniversary, Christmas and Mums birthday [msneek])

You can get the mono rail from the hotel to MK. We went for the 5pm dinner and parked in the Grand Floridian Car park.

I think there are two types of monorail too, one that is express to the parking lot and one which does stop at all the resorts. Make sure you get the right one [msnwink]
A nice alternative may also be one of the resort boats which I'm pretty sure serve all the resorts on the lake.
