I remember reading a thread saying that the Shamu show was being refurbished and was opening a new show sometime , I think May, anyone have any more news on this please ?? We are there from May 5th - 23rd and would rather leave going until later on in my stay if it meant seeing a better show.

Going by the show schedules on their website, it looks like the new Shamu show starts on 11 May and is called 'Believe'.

Believe 11:30, 1:30, 6:30 Shamu Stadium

Before that date, there's a show called 'Making of Believe' on instead.

Making of Believe 11:30, 3:15, 6:30 Shamu Stadium

Hi guys, we saw the "rehersal show" for the new "Believe", it was a little disjointed because they were practicing. As I hadn't seen the "BIG FISH" for a few years, it was lovely to see him his usual playful self[msncool], they seem to have incorporated a movie at the begining to set a scene and tell a story, before they start what we know as a more traditional Shamu show. What we saw seemed shorter than I remember, but that could have been because it was a rehersal? All the things we go to see seem to still be in there, not personally overly impressed with the new format, but will check it out again on our next trip, cause after all, Shamu still performs at his best, and still gets everyone wet, and is STILL the "FISH" to go see [msnwink][msnwink] Love him!!

We saw the 'Making of Believe' last week and it was a full rehersal.
It was very good and I will try and post a few photo's. The set isn't finished yet but you will get a good idea from the photo's

Brilliant photos Michelle. We also saw the rehearsal a couple of weeks ago and I think it will be a very good show once it is launched.

Glad you all liked the photo's.

After buying a new camera in November I really do like using it.

SeaWorld is my favourite park as well and I am really looking forward to going back in August.

Wow!! Michelle:D It looks like what we saw a couple of weeks ago was far from the full show! I was a little disappointed at what we saw to be honest, but as we have annual passes and planned to go back in October, I am really looking forward to the Shamu show again now!! Thanks for sharing your pics!! You have reminded me, that I do infact have something on the video camera of what we saw, must get hubby to play it..whoa he is off getting the leads now!![msnwink]

Great pictures, the new set looks really good. After the revamp of the dolphin show last year its good to see they have now done the Shamu show as well.

We saw the show a couple of days ago and whilst it is good i much prefer the old show.
On the show we saw the screen broke down and the guy had to ad-lib for 15 mins whilst they got it up and running but it was early days.

Well, we saw it on Wednesday last week and whilst it all worked perfectly, we didn't think it was as good as the old show as it has a lot more people and less Shamu. The stunts were a bit more spectacular than the previous show but there aren't as many of them.

There was a cute baby Shamu who got looked after by one of the trainers whilst his mother does her part of the show though. Oh and I think they've trained Shamu's tail when he flicks water all over the audience so that there's a lot more wet flying around.

I've never seen the dolphin show before and that was excellent.

Mystify - the fireworks display - went a bit wrong when we were there too as the movie didn't come up on the water spray so it was a bit of a damp squib.

I didnt rate Believe as a replacement for Shamu Rocks fot the nighttime show, lacked the electricity. The set with all those moving screens is the star, if that went wrong I would imagine it would be a nightmare. As Blottie said, not enough whale and too much film and screens moving about. To my mind it looked like all those supermarket buys that have "new improved" on them and you just know....

Thought the day time show is better than the old one (the old one was to educational for me). Seeing the night time show tomorrow.

Looking forward to your update on the night-time show Paul. The old show "Shamu Rocks America" was our favourite show. The music & atmosphere were fantastic

Night time show is the same as the daytime one, bit of a dissapointment. Clyde & Seymore have a different night time show but I haven't seen it.
