Great photos i wouldnt like to be that high up though,i was very surprised that hearing you got a upgrade on the flight i thought the seats would be far more refined(leather etc),the pitch doesnt look that wide and the gap between you and the table looks just like the ones we use in economy class, seems a lot to pay if you upgrade and get seats that look no different to the basic ticket price,on seeing the difference i dont bother with an upgrade i would rather keep the money for more luxuries when im on my hols.It must have been an exciting but tiring few days for the children[msnwink]

Julie those photos are great, and you look brilliant, so trim and slim! You must be really pleased when you get your photos back, to see how well you've done!

LOL about the coffees, I too noticed the Starbucks coffee in hand! Mind you it was part of your research prior to going wasn't it. [msnwink]

You've got me in the mood for visiting NY. My Son asked if we could include New York in our Round The World jaunt in 2008. I think I will have to get a second job! [msneek]

Hi Julie,

I would just like to add my 'great photo's' comment too!

You had great views from the top of the Empire State Building, unfortunately when we went up last July it was very cloudy & misty so are pictures are not as good as yours. We could only just make out the Statue of Liberty, a good reason to have to go back again I think! My son was not impressed with being at the top of the Empire State, he was convinced the building was moving and felt very uncomfortable up their, poor thing!!

I think your photo of Time Square is just awesome. It's one of those photos that you can't stop looking at. It just shouts New York straight at you. You should try printing it and framing it to see how it looks. The cab and the shadow grab your attention and then there is so much detail in the rest of it. Nice one! [msnsmile2]

We were in NY for 2 nights this Easter, plenty of time to see all the main sights even though we had some very cold and wet weather for most of the time. Here is a photo of Central Park Ice rink(I will post some more if I have got the sizing right).

Hi,

Yes the children loved it thanks, we were there for 6 days, I think anything from 2-3 days is good but after 6 days I have had enough and need to get out of the city[msnwink]

Brilliant idea[msnwink]

Also ive been thinking lately about treating my mother for her 50th next year...just her and me for maybe 3 nights..a nice girly trip.where would i start?i wouldnt know who would be the best to book with or anything, like would it be best booking the flights and hotel seperate or together.
Im so used to booking my trip to florida with virgin i wouldnt know where to begin with new york?

03-05-2006, 17:11
You could do it exactly the same, just book your flights with Virgin (or BA etc) book your hotel in NY, say somewhere centre like midtown, just jump in Taxi at the airport, its all very well organised, have your 3 days in NY. The back to the airport for your conecting flight down to Florida (that you had already booked[msnwink]) and fly direct home again with Virgin[msnwink]
