We are planning a good long day at Magic Kingdom this year and want to stay to see the firework display. Can we get the monorail to any Disney Hotel for a meal then come back to the park?
Also if this is possible, which hotel would you recommend we haven't been to any and would like it to be character based for the children.....of course.
Do you book this on arriving at the park?
Thanks

The closest hotel to the MK that does character dining is the Contemporary. In fact the monorail goes straight thru the hotel itself !

You can leave and re-enter the park on the same day, so long as you get a hand stamp when you exit and retain your ticket for re-entry.

Character dining can be booked at any Guest Relations window, or in the case of the MK, in the Town Hall building to your left as you enter the park.

It would be adviseable to book early though, so you could contact Disney via their web site and make reservations in advance.

Enjoy :D

Another option Paula if you have hopper tickets would be to take the monorail down to Epcot to eat in one of the excellent restaurants around the World Showcase, then grab the monorail back to MK in time for Wishes.

Paula, we did the Cinderella meal at the Grand Floridain and were very dissapointed, food was so so, waitresses were cold and unwelcoming, and the whole event lacked characters - on the whole a very overpriced meal and a bit of a let down[msnsad]
