I suffer with motion sickness, so have never been able to ride Mission Space. I'm looking forward to my next visit now, just got to wait for November.

We went on the tame version the other day, it was good, but did not have the same feeling as the more intense version.

You are given green or orange tickets when you go to join the queue, green is for tame version and orange for intense ride, if you do not have one of these tickets (information leaflets) you are not able to ride.

I absolutely love this ride, can't imagine having to do the tame version. But at least you now have a choice.

Has someone really died on this ride? Or am I missing something? [?]

Perhaps we should say that a couple of people have died who had unknown medical problems from beforehand which neither they, nor anyone else, knew about.

It seems that this was because they had medical problems, although the articles didn't say if they were known or not. Disney have now introduced a less extreme version of the ride.

Just correcting my previous statement that both had undiagnosed medical conditions as the second death was a woman with high blood pressure. My apologies.

An autopsy by Dr. Jan. C. Garavaglia, chief medical examiner for the district that includes Orange and Osceola counties, found that the first person (a boy of four but within the height limit of 44 inches) died of a heart attack caused by a previously undiagnosed, rare heart disease that gave him an enlarged heart flawed with scar tissue.

Another autopsy is pending for (the second person, aged 49), though a preliminary report said she had severe high blood pressure and died of a stroke.

The warnings before te ride include, among other things, that people with heart conditions or high blood pressure should not ride.

Apparently, 11 million people have been on the ride since it opened in 2003.
