Hi. If a management company for a villa asks me for a credit card deposit - what should I do.

Can you explain further, is this a booking deposit and did you make your booking through this site?

Is it the villa that you wanted to book Bethany? Some villa owners have arrangements with their Management Companies to take the payments for their villas.[msnsmile2]

We don't personally do it but thats because we don't have that arrangement with our management company but there are lots of villa owners that do this. Have you bee in contact with the villa owner?[msnsmile2]

Yes I have. Its a townhome. But I wanted to check here first before I decide what to do. I thought I wasn't supposed to release my credit card details. I was sent a form by attachment. I don't know what to do.

Bethany, I can't see that you would have any problems whatsoever. If you are paying the deposit and/or final balance by credit card, for your vacation in the townhome, then you need to fill in the form that the owner sent you and fax it to the management company, who will then process your card for the deposit amount. I work this way with the vast majority of my guests and it is quick and very easy.

I am sure it will be fine Bethany, as Carla says its quite normal in alot of cases to do it this way. [msnsmile2]

So I shouldn't just e-mail it back then? Thanks for all your replies and all your help.

Email isn't as secure as fax, I wouldn't advise sending credit card details by email.

Bethany, as others have said this sounds fine.
However, I wouldn't recommend sending your credit card information by email as it may not be secure.

I ask guests to Fax it back Bethany. Have you got Fax facilities as that is a safer option.

We have the same sort of arrangement with our MC, and always ask guests to fax the form either back to us or direct to our MC. This is the most secure route.

Our MC takes credit card payment for our guests. No problems with it, safe and secure.
