hi i was wondering if there was a visa which you can go over to US and look for a business we have 2 young children of infant school age and want to go over to actually look for a business then apply E2, we have a villa out there also and wondered if this was what B1 is for
Yes it is. You can also change status within the US rather than applying for E2 in London from a B1/2, though you still have to go back to London for interview and visa stamp. Of course, you can go and look for a business on visa waiver as well, but then you need to apply in London for E2 and join the massive queue there.
ok thanks i will apply for this do you know how long waiting time would be this way and would my children be able to go to school whilst waiting?
The wait time varies. Kids cannot legally attend school on a B1/B2 and may not even be issued one if the embassy thinks they ought to be in full time education.
