The Mardi Gras event in Feb/March is really good. There is a fantastic parade just like in New Orleans (!) and street entertainment, but the best bit are the people walking about doling out bead necklaces. We collected dozens - shiny beads, really good quality. We used them to decorate our Christmas tree ( cheapskates, arn't we?)
