I wouldn't buy the S** newspaper if it guaranteed me a villa.
I have morals [msnwink]
It's called the Scum where I live.

I take it then people don't like the Sun newspaper[msnsmile2]

I take it that the hatred of the Sun is a regional thing after its reporting of the football disaster. Or is it it's high journalistic standards you object to?[msnwink]

So is this why this newspaper is offering such a super prize to entice people to purchase it?

Pam and I where once the subject of the blatent lies that get told in the Scum. We where in a hotel in Majorca that caught fire late one night and they report all guests had a champagne breakfast by the pool served by hotel staff and a certain holiday companies reps (t....son). Only a couple of things wrong with the story Staff where exhausted fighting fire till fire brigade arrived and they drained pool using the water to fight fire. Holiday reps did not turn up till mid afternoon and all we had to eat is what we could buy from a local cafe. I do not buy any papers at all now and I once worked for DM.

I have a few friends who did topless page 3 in the Sun..we used to race huskies togther......[msnsmile2][msnsmile2]...
God The Sun, I remember that newspaper ...... *shakes head*. I couldn't get over how newspapers in Australia are just filled with news, it was such a revelation [msnwink] Mind you sometimes I buy the International Express to catch up on the goss, er, I mean overseas news. [msnsmile2]
Have to admit I am quite happy for someone else to win the villa as there is no way I would buy or read the Sun. I was never sure how it was allowed to call itself a newspaper anyway.

My dad buys the sun (sorry) and he'll be collecting the vouchers too, so there will be at least 3 of you in the running.[msnwink][msnsmile2]

You could become a 2 villa family then Sarah, if he wins![msnsmile2] As so often is the case, no one ever admits to buying the paper...yet everyone seems to know it is "not" their cup of tea? Is it REALLY that bad[?]
We don't buy papers, get news off the internet:)
<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by emm

Or you could, perhaps, go to a greasy spoon cafe and have a quick cuppa, and just happen to have your scissors handy so that you could cut out the coupons in the fat and tomato spattered copy of the Sun, which just happens to have been left on your table.....[msnwink]

How many owners do you think will try to have another villa?[msnsmile2]

I think the days of newspapers are numbered as such, maybe sales are slumping and this is enticing people to buy. We use the internet and news channels on TV to get our news and it is not full of sh*** either!
CarolAnn

Though...I do get the occasional DB fix as I pass a news stand CDV:) So can't be all bad I guess:D:D

Well I'm in on this one. Never buy a newspaper other than Times on Sunday. In my opinion they all have their quota of rubbish in them. I don't often buy mags either as they are the same.
However, I will buy the Sun and collect the vouchers and hope one of the few of us on here win it - at least then I know who my neighbours might be !!!!! - decent people with a common interest -
Go on, buy it and pray that one of US wins it !!!!
No, as an expatriot scouser (in the Midlands) I could not, and would not ever buy the Sun newspaper. My father in law buys it and when he does and we're with him, I'm actually embarrassed.
Not even for a Villa.

This is looking good looks like it's only four of us entering. Husband is in London today to no disguise needed in order to buy it but I have made him promise not to read it on the train.

I assume that all the anti Sun forum members do not subscribe in any way to any of Nr Murdoch's other media outlets and boycott them also eg: Times, Sunday Times, Fox TV, Fox Kids, National Geographia, 20th Century Fox Films and Sky TV to name a few.

It's a valid point I suppose, but Murdoch wasn't the editer who ok'd the story and then refused to apologise on behalf of the paper. I'm proud of the way the people of liverpool have handled this, it just shows you that together people can make a difference. The Sun editor came to Liverpool to apologise last year as they lost a lot of circulation, they still said no. Ha!

I don't think newspapers will every disappear completely - just think of the many uses we have for them (apart from the news, crosswords and 'dine out for £5 tokens');
Putting on the kitchen floor when you have a new puppy, stuffing them into soaking wet shoes/boots to help dry them out, protecting surfaces you do not want the spray paint to go onto when you are putting your house number on the wheelie bin, padding round all the stuff that you have taken out of the freezer when you defrost it, making paper hats, covering the painting table during school art lessons, etc etc .................
Where would we be without them?? [msnsmile2]

Hi
Just caught up with this thread. We are also from Liverpool and know people personally affected by Hillsborough. Would never buy that paper.
