Bit the bullet and booked Virgin relaised that In could use up my miles and get the price down as Homer would say DOH!!!!!

Now comes the seat dilema

Travelling economy going out we can get rows 34/35/36/37 DEFG or 58/59/60 DEFG

Anyone have any thoughts?

Cpming back at the moment we can get some of the 2 seat options situated in 61/62/63 AC/HK

I know it is dependent on the day what you get around you but just woondered if there were any ideas??

I am sure that somewhere there was a review on the seating arrangements anyone got a link

Thanks in advance

You can go on the virgin atlantic site and if you go to manage your bookings you will be able to see a flight seat plan, this is if you have your ref no.[msnsmile2]

I have just had a look and what a great website! Thanks for the advice. I have just checked the seats I have pre booked with US Air and they seem to be exactly what I want:)

Cheers exactly what I wanted

Seat Guru reckons the 2's at the back are good so may plump for them on the way home.

Now anyone know if the current Gatwick flights have games on the planes as 2 years ago they did'nt

14-01-2006, 00:38
Gatwick and Manchester rotate the same aircraft, only aircraft with Odyssey have games so its pot luck on the day Im afraid..........

G-VLIP Hotlips (Nova)
G-VROM Barberella (Nova)
G-VROY Pretty Woman (Nova)
G-VROS English Rose (Nova)
G-VGAL Jersey Girl (Nova)
G-VAST Ladybird (Odyssey)
G-VTOP Virginia Plain (Odyssey)

For your info........

NOVA
During the summer of 2001 Virgin took delivery of five 747-400 aircraft (the cancelled Alitalia order), these were fitted with an Inflight Entertainment system new to Virgin Atlantic supplied by Thales. The new product, called 'Nova' has 8 channels of seat back entertainment consisting of:
Movie channels
2 kids channels (featuring a combination of movies and tv programming)
1 TV channel which works on a cycle basis showing a selection of current TV programming
14 audio channels ranging from soul to Classical music
Moving Skymap display which plots the aircraft's flight path
Bulkhead Telephone
The Nova system is on a selection of LGW 747-400. As these aircraft have Suite fit-outs, they get "Super Nova" (an enhanced version of Nova, but it still ain't V:Port).
Registration Aircraft Name
G-VGAL 747-443 Jersey Girl
G-VLIP 747-443 Hot Lips
G-VROM 747-443 Barbarella
G-VROS 747-443 English Rose
G-VROY 747-443 Pretty Woman

Odyssey is also a popular system, fitted on aircraft delivered between 1997 & 2002. It offers 10 movie channels, 8 TV channels, 2 kids channels, 14 audio channels and 35 Nintendo games.
Registration Aircraft Name
G-VAST Ladybird
G-VTOP Virginia Plain

Just be aware there is slight movement in the tail section so if anyone in your party suffers from motion sickness its always better to sit forward of the wings[msnwink]

also to bear in mind the further back in the plane you sit then you get off later and there may be bigger queues at immigration

That is one of the advantages of going PE with Virgin, first off the plane, first through immigration and first for your luggage (it comes out before everyone elses).[msnwink]

How did that happen Julie, I thought they went into a different hold to the rest.

At Orlando Intl they come up on a different baggage reclaim, do you think yours got mixed up with the economy ones?

It would be interesting to know approximatly how many miles virgins planes have flown in their service. It must go well into the millions. And do they not have a lifespan of so many Landings and Takeoffs ????????????[?]

I never knew that so thanks for the tip - I suffer dreadfully from motion sickness so now know which seats to avoid!

But sitting at the rear in a window seat does give unobstructed views, no dirty great wing in the way.

Don't panic it happens all all aircraft with wing mounted engines and is called 'flex' you get it with the wings too, its natural motion of the aircraft and nothing to worry about I promise[msnwink]
